HI KALAMITY JANE!!

My granddaughter Saffire is living with us. We were given custody of her last December and the case goes back nto court in November. It will be recommended by the CAS that Saffire stays with us permanently. My son and his girlfriend have alot of problems and have did little to remedy them. Saffire was undernourished when she came to live with us. At 11 months she could barey hold her head up. Her mom and dad allowed her 10 minutes a day of "tummy time" then she was in her playpen or in her carseat in front of tv while her mom and dad spent their time on the computer. The story goes on and on. They want her back but have not made changes so we will fight tooth and nail to keep her with us. She is happy and healthy.

KJ...I only wish that they would allow us to raise Saffire without a custody battle. I wish that they would see how well Saffire is doing, how smart and healthy she is.

You are a wonderful person Kalamity Jane! I admire you for being able to put the children first. Your social worker sounds like a dynamite lady!!!!!

Luv ya, Dorrie

((((Dorrie)))) i'm sorry to hear your granddaughter Saffire
went through all that...but SO glad she has grandparents willing to care for her and fight for her. i truly do admire you for that, and i really pray the recommendation for her to stay with you permanently is granted...then she can have a good life and grow up knowing what love and care really are.

i've always believed in putting children first and doing what is right and best for them as they can't do it themselves. i do make strides to improve things in my life but still...much as it hurts...would never ask to have my kids back with me unless i was 100% sure i could do right by them all.

all my wishes and thought are with you that you are granted permanent custody in Saffire in November. bet she's a cutie.
