Hi MrsD,
I have never tried one but it does sound interesting. I have also gotten very down in the wintertime but this year hasn't been too bad for me. I am thankful for that because I know how you feel. If you do decide to try it, I hope it works for you. Good luck, Linda ![]() |

visor types. I have a book I picked up at the last library book sale:
Beyond Prozac. It has a chapter on light therapy. And mentioned the visors, which are lower lux, NO UV, and you can walk around wearing it! I recall a very funny, and strange episode of Northern Exposure where Joel gave these to residents of Cicily... all mayhem broke loose! ![]() Since my thyroid retired, this dark winter situation is worse, and aging is not helping much. I just don't want to be sleeping so much I guess. ![]() I'll keep you posted when I finally decide. ![]()

Hi Mrs D
My husband bought me one for my birthday. WHILE IT IS NOT A MIRACLE IT IS WONDERFul. THe one he bought was from Home Depot, Harbor Bay maybe. Full spectrum. floor lamp. http://www.homedepot.com/prel80/HDUS...4+4233&pos=n12 ![]() The light is much as if you open the drapes and the sunlight comes in the room. It is a cool light, much friendlier to me then reg. flourescent. I have it on from afternoon to when I go to bed and feels normal in here now. The darker it was and less hours I could see light around me I could not wake up, felt dreed, a heaviness. I feel like it is spring and I opened my windows for the first day to let the sun shine in! It is not warm like infra red. I had been tanning once a week for 20 minutes to keep some rays...but I prefer this lamp.... The color of the white light on my paperwork, newspaper, and computer area is amazing. I saw inexpensivetable top modles at Boscov's last week, I may try that just for my work station. It was only $19.99. This one is similar, but not desk mount: http://www.boscovs.com/StoreFrontWeb...3&type=Product Edited to add:\ IT notes on the table top about using for scrapbooking or for tiny work items, then it hit me. This lamp does for the eyes what polaroid glasses do for glare in the sun. It is soothing. Di

for those interested in light therapy.
I decided to do the "light visor" and have a thread now at this location: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/sh...ad.php?t=12301 Today was my first "treatment"... I am chronicling my experience.. whether it works or not, etc there.
