Oh, forgot one thing.
Can I freeze this item. I want to take it out of the package it is in, take another box, empty the two bags of Fifty50 into a ziplock freezer bag and put it in my freezer. I'm just curious if this is possible? I don't know the shelf life of this item and I don't want it sitting on my shelf for a year. thanks much Mel

Fructose? I'd think twice about this...
New research shows fructose very harmful to the body. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBnniua6-oM It used to be advocated that diabetics use fructose to replace sucrose in food/baking. Now the safety of that recommendation is being questioned: http://www.reuters.com/article/2009/...52254920090303

Okay, watched a great deal of that video on youtube. From what I understand kids are eating more after drinking a whole can of sweetened soda. Fructose is low glycemic and because it's low glycemic, it doesn't release leptin which tells you that you are not hungry. Here's my thought on this. I thought I might use one tsp a day to sweeten my morning coffee. So two cups of coffee equals one teaspoon a day of Fructose. I don't eat any other sugar. I don't use splenda and this would replace stevia. I did bake one item with this product and it came out fine. But if it's dangerous, then of course I won't bake with it. I don't drink any soda, I don't use sugar in any form. My sugar reading this morning was 97 and my usual post prandials are 117, so my sprouting is definitely saving my life. So am I to understand that even at my age, this small amount of fructose that I was thinking of using, well, it's that bad?? Would you use it? What do you use as a sweetner? Thanks much Mrs. D.

I use Splenda... one packet a day.
I do consume some Nutrasweet, but only one or two drinks a day. It has never caused me any problem. I have a fructose intolerance. 1 in 3 people have this. It affects the bowel (digestive) and liver (genetic and less common). The dangers of fructose itself involve the liver. In that video it shows what happens in the liver when fructose is metabolized. That is where the risk to diabetics occurs. While sugar is empty calories, the fructose carries that double whammy of metabolic toxicity. One packet a day doesn't sound like much. Sucrose is 1/2 fructose you know.
