Hi Stilltired,

As you mentioned it looks like there might be activity on the left temporal lobe as well as the frontal lobe (where the forehead is). If I may ask when you had the e.e.g. were the electrodes on your head or did they do surgery where they put the electrodes directly on your brain? Many times an e.e.g. won't show any abnormal activity because the activity is to deep in the brain and this is possibly whats' going on with you. My best advice to you is to go to an Epilepsy Center and see an Epileptologist (Dr. specializing in epilepy) They know much more than many neuros. I've ever seen over the yrs. and they have been the biggest help to me.

Before I had brain surgery done on the right temporal lobe my Drs. told me that was the only area of my brain that was triggering sz. and they did many tests on me and mapped my brain but when they did the surgery they found brain damage on the frontal lobe as well as the left hemisphere of my brain that not a single test showed because it was in to deep. This could be what's going on with you. Here's wishing you the best of luck and May God Bless You!

Thanks Porkette!

First off let me say I am sorry about your struggles but I am glad you got it all solved :-)

As for your question, the electrodes were placed on my head only.

I thought because they saw abnormal activity on consecutive days, it would be enough to diagnose me. But since the seizures I had were not at the time of abnormalities they said pseudoseizures.

The notes I pasted above were from a Epileptologist at the Epilepsy Centre I was at. As you mentioned about the temporal lobe, I also thought this was something they would mention. Since all the abnormalities seem to be in the front or temporal area, wouldn't that point to it likely being a real problem and not just random spikes. I would think random spikes would be in different areas.

Anyways, I hope I don't have to go down the road of under the skull as that scares me, but we will see what my new neurologist says first.

Thanks for the advice!!

Hi stilltired,

My sz. started out in the right temporal lobe and as time went on they spread to the frontal lobe. I'm no Dr. but I can't help but wonder if this is what's happening to you. If I were in your place I would get a second opinion. Here's wishing you well and May God Bless You!
