Default Read & Respond

Hi Folks,

How have all of you been doing? I hope all is going well. I have noticed over the past few months that people are posting threads and many people are reading them but very few are responding to help that person out.
I can understand if you can't respond because you don't know how to help the person out but I know in the past that many of us have been able to respond with no problem.

Johh has worked very hard to set up this forum and I am very greatful for all the hard work he and everyone else have done and I thank all of you from the bottom of my heart.

What I'm trying to say is lets pick up the pieces and help others out like we used to. Many more people responded to questions instead of just walking away. Here's wishing You Well and May God Bless You!

Sue

Wink

Many of the views on forums like this and others come from
internet robots that scan posts for various search engines.

A large proportion of "views" therefore, are automated and not
real people. These "views" do have the potential for bringing in new real people however, so they are useful for that. This takes time however.

Sometimes a forum becomes "slow"... as members no longer have a need to discuss things and do move on. You can click on a member name and see the last time they were logged into NT for an idea of frequency. However, anyone can read these forums and not be logged on. Replying does require an ID and logging in obviously.

One hint I learned here, was to make the titles of your posts "Google friendly"...that way, people who keyword in their problem will find us more quickly.

So for example-- "A big problem" would not bring in the same number of human views as "Problem with Keppra side effects" would.
So that a detailed title is more Google friendly.

These are just hints, for you Porkette to think about.

Thumbs up Here Sue

Sue,

I too have been missing everyone. Hope you are doing ok. I have been doing great. Presently I am driving school, I took the test and passed, now I just have to get 160 hours of driving with an assistance I bet my DH is going to enjoy that. lol I have gone 2 years since my last seizure.

Hope the weather is ok up there. Here in Texas we have been getting snow, lucky for us we are not snowed in though.

One thing I do is go into the welcome forum and when I see a new member wanting help on epilepsy I will always give them the link to check in with this forum. Well it is time for bed, so I will check in with you more. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Darlene

Hi Folks,

Thanks for your response and I want you to know that I greatly appreciate it. I just wish that other people out there like you folks would take
the time and help others if they could relate to the matter. BT used to be really busy yrs. ago.

Darlene, I want you to know I'm very happy to hear that you are able to drive now and I also want you to know that I always could depend on you to post to others in the forum.

Ginnie,
Thanks for being so kind and asking me to let you know if there are posts that you can relate to so you can respond.

MrsD
I understand very well where you are coming from re: the title of a person post and I will keep that in mind.

Here's wishing each and everyone of you only the best and May God Bless You!

Default Hi Sue

I sure will try my best to be around for others. Today I have to lay low. I had a molar pulled, and look like a chipmonk in my cheek. Feel lousy and in pain, so I am off to bed for more of the day. Glad to know you also Sue. I am glad you cared enough to write to us. You can PM if there is ever something really important you need to bring to our attention. Lots of us want to help. Have a good day, and I am off to bed with a book. ginnie

Default Thanks for the Help

Hi Ginnie,

Thank you so much for offering to help out I greatly appreciate it. You are one very caring person Ginnie.
I'm sorry to hear that you had to have mollars taken out. I never really liked going to the dentist but I did learn rinse my mouth out with hyrdrogen peroxide after I brush my teeth and it has been a big help to me over the yrs. I've only had a couple of cavities and the peroxide helps kill bacteria.
Thanks again for all of your help and support I wish you only the best and May God Bless You!

Default thanks sue

Well I am not 100% today, but we can't be every day can we? My mouth is really swollen, and I have spent the day in bed for the most part catching up on reading. I didn't spend as much time with NT as I wanted to. I am drawn here sue, because of all the compassionate people I have met. It is more like an extended family.
I will rinse with that perioxide gently. I am too swollen for a toothbrush. I am such a baby with this. Doggone it hurts! I had an absess so it made it worse than it should have been. Thedentist was wonderful, and no problems as I was put to sleep. I will feel better tomorrow for sure. Thanks for writing to me. I can tell you are the kind of loving person we need right here on NT. Please keep in touch with me. I would love to know more about you. ginnie

Hi ginnie,

How are you feeling today? I sure hope your tooth is doing much better.
I'm getting ready for a winter storm to hit here with a lot of wind and snow. If I had my way I would be living in the south where I didn't have to deal with winter anymore.
I've been involved with neurology for 39 yrs. I got epilepsy when I was 10 yrs. old and my Drs. found out that only 2 other people that they know about got epilepsy the same way I did and that's from to many brain cells on the right temporal lobe of the brain and as I grew up the cells didn't dissolve like they should have and this in turn left a scar on my brain. Since then I've had brain surgery twice to help reduce my seizures. I also found out that having DNA test can help a person find out what meds to take with the least side effects. I've really gotten involved a lot in neurology and I've been in 2 medical tests Drs. have done to see if it will help others.
I work on NT and BT (brain talk) a lot and I have found that both forums are very educational and people have been a great help to me. I've also made many new friends. One thing I did find out recently is that some people with neurology problems can be cell phone sensitive which means that people that are using cell phones around that person can cause medical problems for them. I learned this after being around people who are using cell phones while I'm at work and it caused me to have seizures do to the frequency that cell phones use. I like using ham radio and talking to people all over the world, helping our troops out in the Middle East so that they can get ahold of their family and talk to them for free and I love to write as well as listen to music. You are a great friend ginnie and I would like to wish you only the best in life. May God Bless You!

Sue

Default Hi sue

What a good post you sent. You are such a good person. That is what I have found on NT also. The best possible people under some of the worst circumstances. Thank you for telling me about your condition. I imagin you do know alot about neruology. You can't live with something so serious and not be educated about it. I am glad you are involved with NT and BT. I have heard of the other one also as a good site for neruological problems. Today I noticed that on NT we got a responce from another professional. I love it when doctors come to this site, and offer their advice, and encouragement. We need more of them to interact with us as "real" people, and not just another patient.
I was blessed to have some really good doctors in my corner. However my pain specialist is not allowing me yet to go up on my medications. My big toe joint has disolved and I am walking bone on bone until I can get the joint replaced. I have to heal from this mouth surgery before I engage in another major surgery. My mouth is slightly better today, the swelling is slightly less, all good. Now if the pain would just subside a bit, I could smile again.

It sounds from your post, that you have had to deal with epelepsy for a long time. I do hope that your doctors are fantastic to you, and give you all the help you need to live your life with good quality. things in the brain are so very scarry. I am friends with another on this site who has an inoperable brain aneurysm. I reach out to him too. He is so very brave with what he has had to endure.
I try to come back here alot, it reminds me that my own problems and pain are nothing compared to what others must endure. It puts my own pain into perspective. People need people, that is what I have found out. I am glad to know you too Sue. Thanks again for sharing with me what your physical condition is. No health problem is easy, but with friends, it does get better. ginnie
