Hi Wren,

I'm sorry to hear that your neighbor was in an accident and is still driving. It's nice to know that you care enough about your neighbor to speak up about it. You may want to tell your neighbor that if they are driving and still having sz. that they can lose their license and on top of that be fined. I know in NY where I live we have to go 1 yr. sz free and have a Drs. written statement saying it's safe for a person to drive or the insurance rates will be sky high.
Take care and May God Bless You!

Sue

Thanks for replying, Sue. I don't know what to do but feel like it is a circumstance full of danger to him .... and me. This is a small town.
I don't know what to do.

Thumbs up

It is so sad to see one driving without a release. Years ago I know a lady who had epilepsy and drove anyway. One time she ran off into a lake having a seizure, lucky that her 2 kids were not with her. My thoughts and prayers are with him to think about the other people on the road instead of putting himself before them.

Wren in our state you can contact your local DMV and report it and they will look into it and call the patients neuro themselves. Its not safe for him to drive. I don't even have my license because my sz. started when I was 18 and I had just had surgery the year before and wasn't aloud to drive so I never even got the opportunity to even try. But I don't bother asking my neuro if I can drive because I know my body and even though im on my meds its so easy for me to have a complex partial, and alls it takes is for me to be unaware for those few seconds to a minute and hurt myself or somebody else. I don't get warnings with my sz and with my complex partials, seconds to minutes just pass by without me even remembering until I come back out of it. Im just not willing to take that chance and hurt somebody. Call your DMV and see what they can do.

No - I haven't done it yet. Today is when I'm taking cookies and candy the local police (I love those people). Their building has no place to talk to anyone so I'm just going to see how it goes. I always walk in and stand in front of the glass - someone, an officer or a secretary, comes out through a locked door and takes the goodies.
Anyhow, today I'll ask for advice and if I should contact DMV.

Thanks for asking tos8....... I am just miserable about this. Yesterday I saw that the man's car was gone again and then saw his wife in a grocery store. She said he had gone into the next town to see his doctor about his hearing aid.
