Quick back story, I fell and hit my head on pavement on January 10th and blacked out. Lots of bad stuff like pcs and all that good stuff developed. These past few months (since like May I believe) ive noticed myself zoning out, or randomly starting to shake a limb and not notice it or be able to control it.

Told Dr and he ordred an EEG, came back normal, but said they sounded like seizures. Past few weeks they have gotten more intense, where basically my eyes roll into the back of my head, and I convulse uncontrollably for about a minute before snapping out of it, only to be extremely tired and sore.

My wife and I are curious if Aleve could cause this? We have noticed them happening since I started taking aleve for an extended period of time. Heres a little excerpt from my latest post, as being on the computer bugs my head after a short time

Well like I said I dont know if its Aleve or not. Yesterday I took it by accident (thought I was geabbing tylenol) and took two. Then about 3 hours later I had another "seizure." Coincidence? Maybe. I dont know, but my wife hid the aleve just to be safe.

The thing that scares me now though is before I used to get a warning sign one was coming, these past few times im not. They are so strange too. Its almost like I can feel my brain telling my body to do it, but I cannot stop it. Sounds weird I guess, but just something ive noticed in some of them. Some I remember and im aware of, others I have no clue about. The people that have witnessed them have said they seem to be getting worse each time though.

What are your all thoughts? My nuerologist is ordering an MRI (not really sure what that will do) but I figured id ask here. Im desperate to figure out a way to stop these, as my Dr just keeps saying yes they sure do sound like seizures, but no way to stop them. Thanks!

My advice to you is to start seeing an Epileptologist at an Epilepsy center you can find these Drs. at large hospitals or university hospitals these Drs. specialize in epilepsy and can run some tests on you like another e.e.g., MRI, CT scan PET or SPECT scan to find out what's going on. Start keeping track of each time a possible sz. happens write down what time it happens on a calendar along with a description of the sz. this will help the Dr. see if you have a pattern in your sz. if they happen at certain times of the day or night and what days of the month. As far as being moody that can happen from either the med or the area of the brain that is triggering the sz. Try taking vitamin B12 1000 mcg. once a day for adults 500 mcg. for kids. Cut back on the carbs and starch foods and stay away from anything with nutra sweet because the nutra sweet causing more electrical activity in a persons brain and can trigger sz. sometimes. Something else you should do is if you go to the theater for a movie, shut your eyes and turn your head when they have flashing light coming out. This can cause a seizure to start. My thought and prayers are with you.

Darlene gave you some great advice! I've had epilepsy for 42 yrs. and I take Aleve for colds and sinus headaches and I have found it helps reduce my sz. but everyones body chemistry is different. If I may ask do you feel tired or confused after these possible sz. (seizures). If you feel tired, confused, or have a headache this is a sign of a sz. Start keeping track of the possible sz. by getting a calendar and writing down what time you have the sz. along with a description of the sz. by doing this the neuro you see may see a pattern in your sz. I often have sz. when I'm sick, or right before a storm comes and there's a low pressure in the weather.
To find out if the Aleve is causing sz. you need to get a DNA test done by doing this test the Dr. can match up your body chemistry and the enzymes in your body and see if the Aleve is triggering sz. and they can also find out what sz. med would be the best for you with the least side effects. I have been on many sz. meds and I found out a lot of them were causing sz. for me it wasn't until I had a DNA test done that I found out I was drug resistant to all sz. meds out on the market now. Don't feel that you can rule out the aleve just because it doesn't bother me. As I have mentioned everyones body chemistry is different and people can react differently to meds.
It can get to be a pain to deal with I've dealt with it for 42 yrs. Just make sure you see a neuro or an Epileptologist and they can help you out and find out what's going on after some tests are done. Wishing you only the best of luck and May God Bless You!

So far ive had a 20 minute eeg, and an mri. Both normal and showing no cause for seizures.

At this point I think my neurologist thinks im either lying or nuts.

Fast forward to July 4th. I had a wedding to go to. Not really sure if this was a seizure, but ive had them before.

Basically early on, maybe 20 minutes in, we were all in a little room where they did the actual marriage. It was loud, bright, and a lot of flashing lights from cameras to go along with all the people in the room.

I started getting a massive headache, and them my chin started to "quiver" like I was cold. Basically my lower jaw started opening and closing quickly, and under no control from myself. I knew it was happening, and I knew what was going on, but could not stop it. About a minute into it I guess they said the "I do's" (dont remember it honestly) and eveyone stood up and clapped and it snapped me out of it. Felt a little tired, and slightly confused, but not sure if that was a seizure. Throughout the next few hours I was there, I zoned out immensely, almost non stop before leaving because I could not take the headache no more.

Am I nuts, or is this a seizure as well? I havent had a "major" convulsing one in about a week and a half, but ive had all of these small ones, especially the zoning out at least once a day. As well as having a quick full body shaking for a few seconds right when Im about to fall asleep every night.

I keep informing the neurologist of these, but he wont do anything other than say they sound like seizures. Now having the 20 minute eeg, and mri proving its "normal" I think hes going to pass me off as a nut, because its a WC case from a head injury suffered in January.

So please, tell me what you guys think those could be, or if they actually arent seizures. Thanks!
