Hi there...
I was diagnosed with FM in June 2011 and given license for MM which I used almost daily but carefully and responsibly. I usually dealt with the daily pain but then when the day was over I would reach for my MM. I was recently prescribed Gabapentin (300x3) in Sept 2011 for pain. I was on Cymbalta (90mg) but was taken off that and put on Lithium for Bipolar disorder. My psychiatrist has suggested strongly against the use of MM with Lithium especially while I get used to it. I have a lot of pain now and have gradually increased my Gabapentin to 500mgx3... As I don't know what else to do for the pain... I recently moved away from my family doctor & she was sick for my most recent appt of which I drove 7hrs for... ![]() |

my older daughter is on Seroquel which seems to have helped her a lot.
apparently, there are some patients who have a kind of slight mood disorder/slight bi polar. she had to work with the dosage a bit until it was just right but she says that it has helped with the pain. I am on many different meds. I have had it for over 20 years. I think that garbapentin helps if your are young and have not had this syndrome for too long. My younger daughter is on that and she is doing ok. but she is young and not as symptomatic yet. As far as your family doctor goes, Rheumatologists are the ones who traditionally diagnosis and treat fibromyalgia. You might want to look for one since they are the ones who keep up with it. I hope this help you. good luck to you and hang in there. |

Hi, I've been taking gabapentin for about 5 years I think. I'm now 53 will be 54 in April. I take 3 x 300 mg's a day. I used to take cymbalta also but with losing my medical insurance I've gone off that. I need to find out if I can find something else to take. So I need to work on that soon.
Anyway, I'm working on it. Donna ![]() |

I think that is the generic for Lyrica. Which is not good for me till I
get my insurance back. And if I do that I can get my cymbalta back. And then I should be okay. If not then I will be switching somethings. Donna ![]() |
