Does anyone else here have more problems with their FM during colder weather? I am absolutely cringing thinking of the more intense pain to come from it. Its like my body freezes up. I try to layer up when getting dressed. But it means more laundry lol then that means going up and down steps to the basement lol.. on and on such a vicious cycle lol.
I am on Ultram ER at night, Mobic during the day for the arthritis I have and a lidoderm patch. I am thinking I need something stronger for the FM pain. Any suggestions of what works well? I know I need to be careful because of interactions with my umpteen other meds. Just want to be able to function better .

Cold weather and I don't get along at all. The main thing I experience in the winter that is fibromyalgia related is increased muscle tension, which leads to increased pain. I don't know what to recommend other than what you are taking; you may have to try a few different things because what is effective for one person with fibromyalgia might not work at all on someone else.

Ditto here. The weather changes are torture for me. My fatigue is at an all time high right now I can't seem to catch up.
All we can do is and bear it I guess. Thank goodness for my Robaxin and steroid shots or I wouldn't be able to function at all.

I'm late at seeing this post, but just want to say YES, I can relate! My hips, elbows are in constant pain. It is COLD here and every change in the barometric pressure wreaks havoc w/me.
Wendy" Could you please explain the steroid shots and the Robaxin? How do they help? etc. thanks.

Robaxin is a mucle relaxant and since cold makes muscles tense, I don't get the tension quite as bad with the med on board.
My trigger point shots get the real tough spots out and basically MAKES the darn muscles relax. Most of the pain is in my upper back/shoulder area down to the mid-back. It depends on the visit. If I don't go and get the shots every 2 weeks or so the tension causes extreme pain and it hurts to sit and lay down or do anything remotely comfortable.
