He woud see a neurologist. Fortunately this progresses very slowly. I have had it for about 15 years. Good luck

Paula, do you have hypothyroidism as well? My wife had a CT done and it shows basal ganglionic calcifications, scared to death.

All I know is that it involves calcification of the basal ganglia in the crania. It can involve dementia, seizures, movement disorders, etc. That's about all I know about it. From what I understand it CAN be hereditary.
