Ever look it up? Ever wonder about the nerve blocks, epidural steroid injections
and contrast dye? What about the multiple back surgeries? Sure seems odd that Ive been dealing with all these events for years. It was refreshing in a odd way to have a doctor finally say you have this. You hear all different terms for your pain and neurological deficits. You can go right down the list of symptoms and it all falls into place. Why did it take so long.( Arachnoiditis ) we'll see how it holds up with WMC. ![]() |

My cousin has it after having back surgery years ago; the dye and all that stuff. Much trouble since then.

Arachnoiditis is VERY hard to diagnose cause it mimmicks so many other spinal problems. Usually it takes a good long while to finally get a diagnosis.
We leave ourselves "open" for this tho every time we have anything injected into the spinal area. The steroids, myelograms, injections can all cause this. Thankfully, it doesn't happen to everyone! It's a nasty, painful condition that has no cure. I'm really sorry you have this -- I hope you have adequate pain medications to help with the pain! God bless & take care. Hugs, Lee

Arachnoiditis is a known risk any/every time an invasive procedure is performed on the spine, yet very few patients are ever advised of this risk.
