Angry Angry with Rheumatologist

So I've been having pain and weakness for years now. A blood test came back positive for ANA 1:160 homogenous. When I saw the rheumatologist, specifically to talk about that blood test he said it doesn't mean anything and I could just have a cough, and he spent a whole 15-20 minutes evaluating me. I brought all my records with me and also had all my records faxed from my primary to him. When I came in he hadn't looked at any of my records and asked me to call my primary to have them faxed over. Now except for the pain and weakness in my legs I'm completely healthy and no infections or coughs. So he basically just blew me off. He seemed more interested in trying to get me to admit to smoking marijuana (which I don't) than he did in my problems. Has anyone else had rheumy problems or is it just me. I'm getting crazy frustrated at this point. 5 years of pain of and on, 7 months of constant 24/7 pain, and doctors every week since November is really annoying me. Sorry for the long post

Bless your heart. I've had problems like this before, but not with Rheumys. It just seems like specialists are so arrogant -- just because they're "specialists.' They breeze thru your appointment, don't listen to you, don't read the report, and blow you off. They TRY to make you admit that you're an addict and that ALL your problems are in your head.

I've been to so many doctors that have acted like this that I just want to scream! There's a surgeon in particular that I'd like to put a HIT on. LOL He's the one who did my last surgery, and when I went back because I was still in horrible pain, he said word for word "You can't be in pain because I fixed you." WHAT??? BS!!! Sorry Charlie, but your "fix" didn't work! What he did actually disabled me!

So I know what you're going thru -- these darn specialists can really make your blood boil There ARE some good ones, and I've found a couple. But it seems the majority are just arrogant idiots. I hope you can find another that will listen to you and treat you like a human being! God bless you and please take care. Hugs, Lee
