Default Chronic legs & back pain, rolling spasms

I've had chronic leg pain for over a year, 6 mo later the rolling spasms started in my legs up to my waist, in my arms and legs. Back pain started about 1 1/2 mo ago

No dx has been made, neuro pressed on my pressure points & said they would hurt if it was neuro.

I've had all the tests, EMG, muscle biopsy, skin biopsy, bone scan, vascular test MRI a yr. ago

Right now my face feels all numb, back pain starts right at my crack and 2 inch down. Went to ER for the lower back pain, said it was arthritis given predisone and a muscle relaxer.

ANA positive tho docs say it doesn't really mean nothing as many people have this. MRI showed some buldging in back L2 L4-5 but that is not enough for docs to give dx being people my age have this buldging.

Going to phys therapy now but that has not improved anything

I live with leg pain every day it never stops, I'm so tired of taking pain pills to survive, I just want a diagnosis and for all of this to stop.

I tried and tried to keep myself under control with this day in and day out, now I'm getting depressed & not doing things I should be doing.

Insurance has denied a 2nd MRI to compare it with the first one done over a year ago. Now everything is progressing.

The docs don't know what to do with me, I don't think they are looking very hard.

Sorry you feel that pain. I wanted to throw out an idea which is what happened to me and the leg pain I had. In 1992 I was misdiagnosed with fibromyalgia. I didn't believe it. It was a gut feeling. For 10 years I went from pain doctor to pain doctor...Ortho surgeon to ortho surgeon. They looked at my exray/mri and said nothing is wrong with you. My visits never lasted more then a few minutes. [I think when doctors don't know what's wrong they can't admit it and they say "You fine." They should just say "I believe you, let me refer you to someone who may be able to help you". ] Anyways.......I went to this 1 pain doctor and he stared at my single little exray and saw a tear in one of the discs in my back. I didn't even see it. I had minor minor surgery to seal it. The horrible aching leg pain was gone. But both legs, entirely, hurt non-stop. The pain I had was from the liquid in the nucleus of the disc constantly "pouring out" hitting my nerves.

When a person has leg pain doctors usually look at your back first to make sure nothing is pinching a nerve. I've had bulging discs for 10 yrs and like the doctor you saw it's not supposed to cause pain. If you're back in normal then they need to look else where.

Keep trying different doctors. Pain doctors help a wide variety of issues. They need to investigate.

I hope you find someone who can help you!
Heather
