I recently had a VEEG done. I do not have epilepsy, but I've had an off-balance, sometimes near fainting feeling since mid-September 2014, and I've had many different doctors do many different tests, so I guess that's why they gave me the VEEG. I took the test home for 3 days. I had no "episodes" since I don't have epilepsy.

I received the results back today and it says:


Impression: "This is borderline abnormal awake and asleep video EEG due to the presence of mild intermittent focal slowing in the left temporal region."


Clinical Correlation: Above finding is inconclusive but the possibility of focal cerebral dysfunction in the left temporal region cannot be excluded. Therefore, further clinical and radiographic correlation is suggested.

*The abnormality is listed as "slowing" and the amplitude is listed as: 30-110 mcv

What should I make of this?


I already had an MRI of the brain done on December 27, 2014, and nothing has changed for me since then.


What could be the cause of this borderline abnormality? Since I already had an MRI of the brain, what other tests can possibly be done to see what this abnormality may be about?


I'm going to have a follow-up with the VEEG doctor on March 4, but in the meantime, any suggestions?


What's the worst they can find and what is the least invasive way to treat it?


I am a 30 year old Hispanic male born and raised in New York City. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't understand your results so can't really comment on them myself, but I wonder if the members on Epilepsy Forum
would have some ideas for you even though you don't have Epilepsy.
They would probably know more about the tests and findings and other conditions that may be similar to yours.
