From what I know of DocJohn, he has real caring involved.

Awesome...

Very glad this place is here even if temporarily.

Anyone that has a problem with it being here and is offended, certainly doesn't have to hang around here or try to convince others to not hang around.

What else are we supposed to do until our beloved BT comes back online?

By using the same name for a temp site makes it easier for old members that are lost in cyberspace to find their home away from home.

Anyone that has issues with this site are all their own and need to look at that.

Default Never hurts to have a spare

I have taken the liberty of starting the Yahoo group noted in my signature below in case BT 2 disappears without warning. The group will be unmoderated until further notice but everyone is welcome to use it. Bookmark it just in case you need a spare.

I'm a newb to BT2 and I don't think I was ever a member of BT. I'm a little confused with the significance of the two forums and URLs.

Anyway, I'm here to learn and share whatever I can.

Wheelin - The original Braintalk had over 50,000 members and numerous forums many of which are listed on the index here.

Mid July, BT crashed. There was 1 update as to the issue July 20th then silence for over a month. Many of us thought BT was dead and gone forever.

Doc John was so gracious and kind to kick up this site he named Braintalk2. It is my assumption he named it similar to help old members find it.

The administration of BT2 is not the same administration of BT. There is actually a bit of political yow yow going on with the deal.

Doc John stated it was never his intention to replace BT just provide us a place for support until BT came back online.

So, any disgruntled comments you may read are likely from those that were frustrated at no updates as to what happened to our beloved Braintalk for over a month.

What you DO need to know is that this community is full of loving, compassionate, helpful people that want to support and help others that are walking similar paths.

Glad you found the forums and hope you get what you need.

If you happen to come across disgruntled posts, move on and know that the group is going through a deal at the moment. It is temporary and will pass.

Blessings and cheers.

Thanks Beck! I can understand the frustration with sites going down and not being able to talk to anybody. Been there, done that. As the webmaster too! Running a site ain't the easiest thing to do. Anybody that complains when a site goes down should try managing their own site from start to finish and they'll see what I mean. LOL

My hat's off to DocJohn and John Lester. Both deserve a lot of credit for just making these kinds of sites available for the rest of us. Neither should be criticized nor belittled. They both are apparently working for the better for all of us.

Peace.

Dave

Hey, everybody.

When I was checking to see if BrainTalk was back up yet a few weeks ago, I noticed Doctor John posting a query wondering if there was any way that he could help.

Since he's in the same area as the original BrainTalk and since he already had server space, I think it was wonderful of him to offer a landing place for us while we we're waiting for the other server to be healed.

I truly suspect that the reason for the similar name was so that anyone doing a search (say on Google) would find this place -- much easier than sending up hot air balloons

Let's just be grateful that someone saw a bunch of hurting people and offered to help for awhile. I think it's **WONDERFUL**

Default this should be in the perfect site thread

Well it makes me tired just thinking of it but I have to admit I've always wanted this to be possible...and only people interested need even try, WE sit and ask you about your fervid belief that BUsh and Republcans must go, but you can't call them any names. YOu can cite his actions but no derogatory talk about his intelligence.. NO JUDGEMENTS of anyone, just actions and why they are bad for us. No false accusations. Just what we know he did and how it makes us feel. Actions/ consequences. to tell what is wrong. Share why this scares you and to what degree instead if screaming fascism. And vice versa. If it gets insulting - lockit -repeating offenders temp followed by perm banning. IF it doesn't work, concede immediately that it wasn't a bad idea but this group of people can't do it. And that's that...
