Default Lonely because of my condition

Hello people, I'm a 21 year old college student studying aerospace engineering. I just transferred to a new school that is very well known for this field but am not very happy because I literally know no one. I know things would be better if I were to just go out and get to know some of the students here, but I have issues becoming close to people. I was diagnosed with a mitochondrial myopathy a few years ago and it seemed as though the people that I cared about would become very upset whenever I mentioned what I was going through physically. I know it was only normal for them to be concerned considering the nature of the disease, but I pretty much withdrew myself from several relationships because I felt terrible about making them feel bad and didn't want them to cry about me anymore. I guess I'm just scared that I'll have to do the same here.

Anyway, I'd be willing to answer any questions if you have any. Thanks for reading.
