Interesting you should bring this issue up.
Yes,
I do feel invisible in a store but it is generally from the rudeness of other customers. I will be standing looking at something, like in the bread aisle of a supermarket, and someone will reach across, RIGHT across in front of my face, like I am not even standing there, or I will be waiting in line to check out and someone will just slam into my body with their cart. I have to say, I am so tired of the rudeness, I have been saying your line to people, "Am I invisible?".
The reactions have been interesting but generally people are embarrassed their rudeness was called on the carpet and they apologize.

Wiix, I think it is just the pace of society....I really don't think people mean to act this way, they are all so distracted or stressed, they just live in their own world, with little regard for others. At least here in the Northeast, the New York Area.
I was just in Texas and I have to say, the people their are SO civil and polite and the drivers were also very kind and accommodating. I found driving on their highways a joy because people are so nice. I generally dislike highway driving because, around here, you take your life in your hands. Kudos to Texas for their civility and kindness to others.
