Dr. Fasano now states that the "gold standard" for celiac, being an endoscopy is no longer a gold standard. He says it's not silver, or even copper. It's an outdated standard and as a rule, misses celiac disease very often.
Now, they need to perfect a test for gluten intolerance, so people stop thinking as long as they do not have celiac, then gluten is ok. Thanks!

Deb We urge all doctors to take time to listen to your patients.. don't "isolate" symptoms but look at the whole spectrum. If a patient tells you s/he feels as if s/he's falling apart and "nothing seems to be working properly", chances are s/he's right! |
