Default Ear Infections - more than just dairy sens.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/q...=pubmed_docsum

RESULTS: We found twenty five patients with recurrent otitis media with effusion and food allergy demonstrated by positive skin testing. The most common food found to be associated was milk, egg, beans, citrus, and tomato. The elimination of the food diet led to a significant amelioration of the otitis in 22 patients, in whom clinical and tympanometry evaluation was performed. The challenge diet with suspected offending food provoked a recurrence of the otitis problem.

Very interesting Kim. I've been struggling w/an inner ear infection for the last few weeks. Started out as larangistis and then moved to an inner ear infection. On my second antibotic with no improvement. I've always had problems with my ears - tubes in a child, several ear infections usually twice a year but not this bad...

While researching it (getting ready to go back to the dr - again), I came across this information that seemed to connect w/yours although this is more serious than a normal ear infection but does make reference to Celiac & food allergies:

Hi Becki.

Sorry to hear you've been having such a hard time of it.

Do they know what type of infection it is?

I've been reading articles about oregano... where it will work where antibiotics have not.

Here's some of the stuff: http://forums.braintalk2.org/showthread.php?t=3782

I went to my ENT because after being on amoxillican for 10 days I wasn't doing much better. My ENT said that I have TMJ (Temporo Mandibular Joint Pain). http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/e...cle/001227.htm

I get that too but it seems to come when I eat offensive foods.

1) gluten (the worst offender, of course)
2) deep fried food (I can tolerate some but not too much)
3) potato (I can tolerate some but not too much)

I ate too many potatoes yesterday and I'm paying for it today! When will I ever learn!!

My ENT said for me it's a combination of things, clitching my teeth, osteoarthritis flarring up elsewhere and my job (talk on the phone nearly 8 hours 5 days a week). I'm sure getting glutened doesn't help any either.
