I have had blurred vision over the last 3 weeks, slowly becoming worse. I have head aches on and off, sharp ice pick kind of pain, a lot on left side of head and pain at back and around left eyr. My vision is denimishing. I have history of some sort of migrane, scotoma aura and all of that. I have vascular problems like cerebral aneurysm in the pasr ( repaired) and TIA. I went to my opthomologist yesterday, I could not even make out the largest letters to read. I can not drive, can not see the signs. He has referred me to a neurology opthomologist. I saw him 2 years ago. But this pm, my sight seems to be getting worse. I do not know if I can wait until Wednesday to see this doctor

Then considering the history you've outlined, I would call both doctors asap as an emergency call to notify them of what's happening, and/or go to the ER. Use your own best judgment. IMO sight isn't anything to mess around with or wait until it's too late to get help.

Dr. Smith, thanks. This is just to update on my "vision encounter". ---Yes, I called, and also my opthomologist had said ASAP, I got in the next day with the neuroopthomologist. It did bother me, but I think I denied, and could not think of any more "fuss" right now.
Any how, the outcome is that there are large fast growing catharack in both eyes. It had grown fast in last month. They think it can be Prednisone related I did not realy get a complete answer to the terrible lightsensitivity. He mentioned" that is interesting" and then later said it could be related to the catharacks. But I am not so sure about that. I have to ask my rhematologist. It possibly could be related to Lupus??? As far as the headaches goes, they are not really always at the same place. ( so I think they ruled out unruptured aneurysm. Besides, I had just a few weeks ago had a MRI of brain with and without contrast ( due to the TIA.
But I must ask some one to get me a good expert on Migranes.
They also ruled out Temporal Artiritis.
So, I am still here, even though I have to use magnifying glass and shade over my eyes to see the screen. The outcome was good, I will take catharacks over any CNS problems.

I will be meeting with my opthomologist again and discuss treatment for the cataracks

Yes. I bounced around between neurologists, ophthamologists, and others for several years before one doctor (on a completely unrelated matter) asked me if I had seen "the headache guy"—meaning a local migraine specialist whose practice is limited solely to migraines & difficult headaches. That made all the difference for me. All the neuros said they knew all about migraines and could treat me, but they didn't, and a couple just strung me along experimenting—I felt like a guinea pig.

I hope you can find a "headache guy" that can help you.

my headache is not giving up. It has become unbearable. My vision was effected by a grey/brownish cloud of bluriness. After seing the neuropthamologist, who said he could see no neurological vision problem, considering I have a history of acephalgic migrane. He agreed with fast developing cataract.
My vision improved, and I could again read and see the computer screen. So I knew it must be something more than cataract, because they do not get better. The headache worsened.
I went to my neurovascular neurologist. He has asked the opthamologist
to do a fluoresein angiogram, which will be done on Tuesday. Sed rate went from 6 in December 20, when I had TIA episode, to 15, I do not know if that is significandt. It is right in the middle of the scale CRP is 0.06, and Hemocystein today is 8.5.
My neurovascular doctor said he will do a cerebral angiogram, to check the vessels out for developement of vasculitis.
Today, the headache became very throbbing, and right temple is red and warm.
So being that I am already being treated for vasculitis and Arthritis with Methatrexate and Prednisone, I know my risk is high for both temporal artiritis( which I probably have) and CVA, as well as Wegeners , and all other kind of misseries.
I have a good PCP, I called her up,knowing that I have a good supply of Prednisone on hand. She told me to take a high dose of Prednison, 60 mg daily for the weekend and see her Monday morning. She told me to come to the local hospital tonight if I thought things gets worse ( she will be there for a while, she said)
So I have done this, and took some extra strenght Tylenol, which usually does not help, and I try not to take them.
So I also have a flare up of the vasculitis, and the Small Fiber Neuropathy seems to thrive in this company.
Hoping to get through this in one piece.
I think I have Temporal Artiritis, it also is familial. My sister had it. My brother had ruptured Thorasic Aortic Aneurysm and he survived it by a few minutes.
I had unruptured Cerebral Aneurysm coiled 2 years ago.
