Dehydration caused shunt failure?
I think I managed to cause a shunt failure by being repeatedly dehydrated over the past 6 months. I was dieting pretty heavily and think I caused a decrease in CSF production, which has led to ventricles basically collapsing on the shunt.
Has anyone affected CSF production, up or down, with diet or medication?
I think the shunt is pretty much dead at this point, but I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar?
Side note: My condition is related to congenital hydrocephalus with a non-programmable medium pressure VP shunt. But any feedback is much appreciated.
