Is it okay to let yourself become dehydrated on purpose because you are going on a day trip and you don't want to have to pee all the time?

It's never a good idea to let yourself become dehydrated.
What if you tried this -- hydrate yourself in the morning by drinking lots of water and then use the bathroom before you leave the house. Drink small amounts of water during the trip, just enough to hydrate yourself without having to urinate frequently. Then at the end of the day when the trip is over, drink lots of fluids to make sure you are not dehydrated. Quick question - do you drink lots of water? People who are well hydrated who drink lots of water on a regular basis will often need to urinate frequently because the water sort-of "runs right through you" since you are already well hydrated. I was always told to look at the color of the urine to determine whether or not a person is well hydrated. The lighter the color and the closer it is to being clear means that the person is well hydrated.... darker urine means not well hydrated.

better to avoid all caffeine before a long trip. (and of course, alcohol)
Coffee/tea/Coca Cola etc. Anything with caffeine makes you "go" more often. Totally avoiding water is not a good idea. Especially if you are on any drug treatment. Depending on your age, having to "go"often may be a bladder/neurological issue and totally independent of water intake.
