Default New here - Shunts and Sleeping

Hi there. I am new here. My daughter was born with Spina Bifida and Hydro 14 months ago. She has a VP shunt.

My problem/question: She has had a terrible time sleeping for about 2 months. She wakes crying often and sometimes wakes screaming. She used to sleep through the night so this is new. I thought it was normal baby stuff until I saw an email form a mom in a similar situation/similar aged child who when in for a routine MRI and ended up with a shunt revision. I have come across 2 similar stories since.

Our daughter is scheduled for a CT Scan in 2 weeks. I am hoping it is not her shunt.

Does anyone have any experience with sleep problems and shunt malfunction?

Thanks in advance!
