Hi i am new to the forum, been ill with Hydro since i was 15 due to a massive bleed on the brain, i have a malformation and still suffer from small bleeds. I am shunt dependable, and have had surgery 8 times, i am now 27 years old and proud of everything i have achieved despite having headaches most days, some nausea and depression and anxiety.
My surgeon recently suggested i have a third ventriculostomy next time my shunt blocks.....i just wondered what everyone thought? If anyone has had one.....thoughts on it, pain etc??? Thanks and much love Nina |

My daughter had one at the age of 3. It did not help her at all. Make sure that the type of hydrocephaleus you have is due to not having the opening at the base of your skull. After she had the surgery they discovered that she had the opening so the surgery was unnecessary.
