Default Life pension awarded to me, but who pays it?

I have received life pension from my workers comp case in CA! I am waiting for a phone consult tomorrow with my attorney to find out who pays me this money! I thought it was the insurance company but they say no. Anyone out there have an information on this? I will patiently wait until tomorrow to find out from my attorney. Thanks for any advice you may have! Jacqueline
