Confused Mrs D? Need your advice on Forteo....

My osteo is going down hill - noticably. And Ortho's, Endo and Ocon are for it... I juuust don't know about those daily shots! I've a semi-needle phobia?
Then, there's the fact that my 'hands' w/the PN aren't always soo steady All the time, each day?
Honestly, it sounds too good to be true to boot.
Any honest feedback you or others could provide can help me decide. Many thanks to YOU and all in advance! - j

Lightbulb sorry to be late:

Oh, sorry, I must have missed this post!

I think you should contact Silverlady and LizaJane...they both used or are using Forteo. They would give your first hand advice.

Forteo has issues, which you can read about here:
http://www.patientsville.com/medicat...de_effects.htm

This is an old article... so I don't know if the issue has been resolved...

http://www.healthcentral.com/osteopo.../forteo-risks/
Basically the nickname used at Eli Lilly by the reps who work there is We Lie Lilly.... so consider the manufacturer in this case.

Default Thanks Mrs D!

Since my fall last year, my Dexa #'s have plummeted! Now hip is a possible issue- It wasn't this time last year. Scary stuff, for me, as I seem to now be in the 'red alert' zone. The hesitation IS the method of administration, plus the fact that I've been on Fosamax+D too long? Your wise counsel about calcium and other complementary goodies, has helped. Those I've tried to follow? But, doesn't seem to be working as well as all would like. Sigh.
Endo, Ocon and Orthos [2] are all saying YES... for me the delay has been the HOW I get It? But I did suspect that other issues could come into play.
I will check the other good folks you suggested, but this is getting to the 'very' not good stage.
Frustration reigns for now. Thanks and 's until later. - j
Will let you know how it goes...if it goes?
