Hello I was searching online for some possible answers and happened across this one. I recently thought I was pregnant as had 3 tests saying positive, it turned out I either had a miscarriage or possibly a cyst (this is pending my obgyn results) I contacted my neurologist who advised me to stop the rebif since I thought I was pregnant. I have missed 2 doses already and since my husband and I do want another baby I dont know if I should just stop until we succeed or continuing taking Rebif & quickly stop as soon as I do get pregnant.I am very scared if I stop and do relapse but at the same time my dream is to have another child. We are blessed with a 9 year old and want to give him a sibling. Any insight, suggestions are greatly appreciated as I am lost. Thanks!

Rebif is a Class 3 drug - they don't know for sure if it will cause issues, but there's the potential.
My neuro has recommended staying on R until we know we're pregnant and then discontinuing it immediately. I've read the insert, I understand the risks, and now I need to talk with an OBGYN about it to see their opinion. It's a matter of risk tolerance. My fear is that I'll be off the meds for a long while before I get pregnant and will trigger my ms into being active (it's been quiet for years). I have to weigh that against the risks associated with continuing to take the med. At the same time, I have to wonder if the med will really make a difference in the long run, so the risk of being off it could be negligible. Lots of things to consider. |
