Help soooo much pain!!!!

This started friday nite...........(before rebif shot)
Headache, icky feeling, pain/achiness, etc.

Saturday the shattering pain in my bones, headache, nauseau.....stayed in bed then on couch. Not very hungry...pain intensified throughout nite. Pain is now in my entire body, sharp stabbing pain in my ear, my teeth feel like all the nerves are exposed!!! I cringe with any light or any sound. My face feels like my bones are shattering. Everytime I move the pain moves and gets worse and I get more and more nauseau. Trying to focus on anything but seems like the object is shaking rapidly. But doesnt last long unless i look somewhere else. Cant sleep.

Sunday same thing......Drinking liquids, chewing food, breathing...everything makes the pain worse. Im once again constipated....dehydrated...and really cranky. Not to mention the imaginary bugs crawling all over me and especially in my eyes. feels like they r chewing on my eyes!!!!

Not a good thing with 3 small hyper children and having marital problems with hubby of 18 years!

Im on Rebif, cymbalta, neurotin generic, protonix.
Im am trying to cope with the pain with ibuprophen, darvocet, benadryl.

Should I had called my neuro over weekend? Call tomorrow? Any thoughts or suggestions greatly appreciated.

MM,
Call your Neuro in the am, ASAP. Get a visit with him or at least get him on the phone. You should not be in that much pain and misery. It could be T.N., Trigeminal Neuralgia of the whole side of the head/face. Or migraine, or a virus. Do you relapse? Perhaps that is it.

Only your doctor can tell for sure. If you can't see your Neuro for some reason get to your PCP or the ER. Benadryl is dehydrating and can cause constipation too. I am not sure about the other drugs you are on. Do you have a fever? Your shot was after this so do you get flu-like from the Rebif?

So many answers you need to find out what is wrong and get it treated. Good luck to you and I hope you feel better soon.

Maybe you feel you need the ER now. Do you?

Thank you for the quick response!

I was contemplating the ER on Saturday....but my hubby always tells me that I just need to take more meds!!!!

I have waited this long.....can wait til tomorrow am.

I also, have a feeling around my neck like someones chocking me. Am I crazy?

How do you know if this is a relapse? MS causes me a great deal of pain on a regular basis. But this is ridiculous!!!!

Does your neuro have an answering service? If it's really really bad you could call the answering service and request that your neuro call you back, then you could describe what's happening and he could tell you if you need the ER or if you can wait to see him...plus it gives him a heads up if you can get an appointment on monday.

As for your husband suggesting you need more meds, there's only so much medication you can take at one time before your body says "STOP GIVING ME MEDS!!" and then totally craps out. If it were me, I'd be calling the neuro's answering service, no matter what time of night it was.

I hope you get into your neuro's office quickly. Sorry you are in so much pain. Sending many hugs (gently so they won't hurt) .

How are you feeling today? Did you reach your neuro's office? what did they say? did you end up in the ER?

We will be here waiting to hear what happened when you can update us.

Dear Motors Mommy,

I hope you have contacted your doctor and have gotten some answers and some relief. I am not completely familiar with your symptoms, but in times of extreme pain/distress, I have found the ER to be most helpful. Taking more medication is not the answer, if you have already reached the limits of your prescribed dosages. Do let us know how you are doing. Caring for you - billie

Thanks Everyone!!!!! I love this place...everyone is sooooo sweet!!!!

Called the neuro first thing this am....left message.

Meanwhile i went to my eye doc and he assures me that I do not have optic neuritis (YEAH ) and although some of the meds can cause eye problems, he thinks its just the MS Flare.

My neuro's Rn called around 4:30 this afternoon. Being put on medrol pack and told to take darvocet for pain. Hellllllllooooooooo that is what Im doing and it aint helping. GRRRRRRRR.

Oy goodie steroids.....Should be really constipated and cranky now! LOL

Wondering if the face, nose pain was from a head butt my 3 1/2 yo lil guy gave me almost 2 weeks ago???????

The pain all over is still loud and present plus getting really nauseau.....another fun nite of not sleeping.

talk soon!!!!

MM,
Thanks for letting us know you are okay. I am glad you don't have O.N. I hope the steroids and the pain medication combined, get you feeling better real fast.

With the steroids don't take much salt and eat potassium enriched foods, like bananas and yogurt, etc. I did steroids for 20+ years for relapses. They might take a while to work, or they may help right away. You never can tell.

Nap when you can, if the kids nap. Don't expect to get all your sleep at night. Even if you get a little at a time, it all helps you to feel better. Keep us updated, okay?
