Havent exercised all weekend, but I'm making the supreme effort to clean out my closet tonight. (walk-in closet, that's stuffed to the gills with containers of scrap yarn, and college books from classes I took more than 5yrs ago, among other crap)

I keep having to stop and rest because my back hurts from bending over. So far, I've found a few things I was looking for, and I've tossed a bunch of my old school notebooks.

I'm giving away a lot of my scrap yarn. (cheap acrylic...my yarn tastes have become more discerning) I think if I can get to the point where I can actually get into my closet to change the lightbulbs tonight, it will totally count as exercise.

Then once I can see the clothing, I'm loading up a pile of stuff for either the Goodwill or for the Paralyzed Veterans. I want to de-clutter my room so that I can start organizing things easier. (getting a custom-built corner desk put in my room in the next few months...Corian desktop, bookcases with crown molding...yay!)

I think I'll be able to sleep tonight, I've actually gotten a lot done, and only been at it a few hours. I just hope I dont hurt my back doing this.

It's going to freak out my dad. I dont get in the cleaning mood very often. Much less in the mood to donate things. I just want to get things cleaned up so that when they come to build my desk I dont have to hire a front-end loader so that they can get into my room. (I really want that desk!)

I figure if it tires me out, it counts as exercise.

Oops, I forgot to post about it. I mowed the lawn yesterday. I did the riding part first after our oldest DS showed me how to use the rider... whe-eeee!

Then I finished the trim with the push mower, and it took about 45 minutes. It was really long so I'm going to rake the dried grass tomorrow and put it in the compost pile. First (at DS's suggestion) I'm going to go buy a wider and lightweight rake. The one I've been using is an old wooden one DH found when somebody threw it out about 20 years ago.

I might get a thatch rake too and do that when I finish if I have the energy.

Let's see . . . I was a bum over the weekend in the exercise department. (Did homework all weekend). Yesterday morning I didn't walk per se, just did lunge walking in DBF's back yard for about 5 minutes. I walked today.

I am hoping to get my bike (3-wheeled) fix this coming weekend so I can start riding it. I want to add that in on some days.

On Sunday I cleared out all the flower beds and containers and put the containers in the shed. I also raked the front lawn and got the winter birdfeeder out. My DH mowed the lawn and got the pond prepared for winter (I was grateful, since I can't kneel down easily). I think I worked outside for about 4 hours without stopping.
Which might be one of the reasons I slept all day yesterday...and all morning this morning. But I forced myself to take the dog for a 30 minute walk late this morning, and I feel reinvigorated. I have to ease back into working out, since my neck is still stiff from last week, but about 80% recovered.

Thats a lot of work Erin! Cleaning out your closet, that reminds me of that great Eminem song.

Good landscaping ewiz. Why can't you just leave the clippings on the lawn? Or is it one of those super nice lawns?

Sounds like good exercise to me tkrik

Debbie, I am pooped just reading about your gardening activities

I swam a mile this morning.

I raked grass clippings today and picked up most of it for the compost pile (40 minutes of activity). I'll get the pine needles tomorrow and use them for mulch around my various hydrangeas (they love the acid composition of the pine needles).

After that's done I'm finished until the leaves fall from our maple tree in the front yard. By then I hope the compost bin will be settled enough to take most of the leaves so it can all "brew" throughout the winter and springtime in time for mulching next summer.

BBS, our lawn is far from perfect. I was thinking we need to get a thatcher attachment for the mower or hire it to be done. I don't know if I could do it all with our rake. It needs to be thatched and then some organic "weed and feed" next spring.
