I'm with Debbie...I've been taking Naproxen twice a day for...um, forever, I guess. Just yesterday my doctor reminded me that I was taking the "recommended dose" (in other words, as much as I can) and there are times that I'd sell my inheritance for an extra dose.
I've had arthritis longer than I've had MS symptoms, but for me it's a moot point whether or not the Naproxen is contributing to the fatigue. If awake means sitting there watching my ankle throb, I'd just as soon be asleep. ![]()

I agree, B2Y. Everyone has to weigh the benefits of being without pain against the benefits of having more energy. If more energy means you're only going to notice your pain more then it's not worth it. Sometimes sleep is the body's way of healing (or trying to heal) itself and we should listen to it and not push ourselves. ![]()

My DH has a lot of arthritis pain in his back and legs and was taking a lot of ibuprofen. I've got him on a gluten free diet and he feels a lot better. There are actually lots of things he can eat. I bought a special bread machine and make him some tasty gluten free bread in it. Our sons have been eating as much of it as DH is.
Anyway, a bit off topic but I thought I'd toss that out there for anyone having a lot of arthritis pain. ![]() The gluten free diet didn't do a thing for my MS fatigue though, which was why I originally tried it. I think I even got a bit worse during my six week trial of GF eating. ![]()

I keep thinking I need to eat better. But ALL I hear is what not to eat, so I never know what to eat. And I'm starving all the time - menopause, I hate it. Or maybe something else. I need to talk to the doc either way. I'm almost wider than tall now. Ugh. All I know is I have a tiny bit more energy with Advil (liquids) than without. Only take 2, 2-3 times a day. Tylenol or Aleve don't have any affect on me.

![]() After being on it for over a year or more it lost it's effect, so I would stop it on the weekends, or only 100 mg and it worked during the week again for me. This is just what I did, always ask your doctor, which I am not. What dosage are you on? It's very expensive still isn't it? This new one out Nuvigil works a little different. It's had a little different structure and method of action. Sally, I take Bayer coated Aspirin Plus 2 caplets of 500 mg each when needed. BGB, maybe the doctor can give you a weight-loss medication, if you have a weight problem. Some of these boost your energy and lessen fatigue. Just a thought.

If you are thinking about taking an NSAID -AND- you are taking extra Vitamin-D you might want to consider the impact of COX inhibition in selecting the NSAID you choose. Ken
