There are several drug therapies they can try, like phenobarb, and depakote, and well...your md needs to give you a list. If you feel that you are stuck with an MD that isnt listening, or has reached the upper limit of what he is able to do for you, it may be time to seek higher ground, and a different MD.

The new days of mother hood are supposed to be special, magical and filled with wonder and glory, not ER trips, and hospital stays. Most women find that during pregnancy their MS gets dramatically better. They sometimes have a relapse after the estrogen comes back down to normal levels, but siezures are a horse of a different color.

I highly reccomend finding a neuro who deals in seizures as his specialty, and use the neuro you have now for the MS stuff. It is possible for a neuro to be more focused on what one brain malfunction is over the over, and not be as knowledgable as he should be on the others.

Hang in there

I'm so sorry KW. I hope you follow Dej's advise and find a Doc who will help you.

Congrats on that new wonderful baby and feel better soon..

Hi KW,
Congratulations on the birth of your baby.

A few questions. Did you have seizures or seizure activity before the pregnancy? Did you have to lower or stop a medication while pregnant? If so, it will take a while for the medication to build up in your body again.

Maybe you had petit mal seizures or real tiny ones, far between, that you were not aware of. Or have any as a child? Family history or seizures?

What kind of seizures are you experiencing? Just some questions I was curious about.

I believe Dejibo has very good information to follow up with. Get a Neuro who specializes in seizures. Call any Neuro' office and ask who in their office specializes in Seizures and/ or Epilepsy.

Enjoy you baby, they are a precious gift. I wish you good luck in finding the cause of your problems. Maybe just a medication adjustment.
