Default Eye Issue

I know many of you have had eye issues. So far, I had been fortunate. But would appreciate you thoughts on this:
Last night I suddenly was seeing flashing color lights in a circle around the left side of my center vision. Inside the circle was very distorted and could not make out the image I was looking at. The circle got larger and lasted for about 20-30 minutes then seemed to disolve. Seems fine today.

I have had floaters before, but this was much different.
Any ideas as to what it might have been?
Thank you.

Maybe that was a "phosphene"?

Sounds like an ocular migraine to me. I've had them before. Check out this link (scroll down to see the info and pictures):

I think Holly may be right.......I've had this before. Long time ago but I remember it. There was no pain involved. It was strange and didn't last very long and never happened again. When I asked the doctor about it he said it was some sort of migraine.

I Olhipie will lose the sight in one or both eyes. I this I mean it will be blurred. Most of the time it is one eye and he will wear a patch over it because it drives him nuts.

I know it is usually caused by all kinds of things...stress, fatigue...good ole sun light...too much. It’s for him a pseudo exacerbation.
Call your doc and see what his take is on it....

I agree with Holly, too. That's what it sounds like. (((((((((((Friend))))))))))

Holly's explanation sounds likely...and Tamilou, I've not been getting much rest. Last night when it happened I was up babysitting my 2 month old granddaughter all night while my daughter had taken her one year old to the er with high temp.

hopefully, it's a one time thing. thanks so much ALL of you for the input.
