Angry Neuro's office called...I nedd a CPAP sleep study now
Rats...now I need to see how a sleep over works with a CPAP machine...what the heck?!
The technician said before the sleep study that if there were indications that I needed to try the machine she would come in during the night and put it on me.
But the scheduler who called today told me that the neuro, in going over the test data, feels it might be warranted to use one.

Aw darn it anyway. How do they do this? Is it in the hospital? Will it be as an outpatient? And dumb question I know, but what is a CPAP machine?

I know a number of people who use the CPAP machine. You may find it not only helps with the fatigue but the muscle spasms/weakness that you are experiencing.

This past summer we had some friends visit from Michigan. She uses the CPAP machine. She said after the 1st night of using it she felt better rested and had less physical issues and overall felt better. She was sold after that.

My dad uses a CPAP machine. His sleep improved a lot once he started using it.

It may be a good thing.

I would never even consider going anywhere without my CPAP. It helps you that much!

Welcome to the club. Ugh.

I was told I should notice a difference, but I never did. I use it faithfully, though, as I don't like the thought of my breathing stopping for minutes at a time.

If you do a sleep study somewhere besides your own bed, you might want to consider asking the doc for a sleeping pill. I found it extremely difficult to fall asleep with someone watching!

I have to have the test in a crummy room with just a bed in it. The tech stays outside of the room. But it's still so noisy that I had difficulty getting to sleep last time. I'm going to bring my ear plugs next time!
Wiz, the CPAP is a machine that forces air into a mask you wear to keep the airways open. I know I snore mightily...don't know how my DH sleeps beside me!
Oh well, if it helps, then I'll be grateful...

I looked it up last night, then showed it to DH. It sounds like something he could use too! He sometimes stops breathing for a few seconds during the night, and he snores too.

I hope the machine helps, and wouldn't it be great if it helped your fatigue!

And try to look at it this way, it can't be as bad as colonoscopy prep.
