Erin, PLEASE speak to the manager at the gym. Being harrassed by other members is NOT something to be tolerated. You pay the same dues they pay. If they dont like your speed, TOO BAD! After you speak to the manager, tell him you want HIM to be the "go to" guy and if someone bugs you or harrasses you, you can say "go see Kevin!" or "if you dont stop the stupid comments, I am going to report you" You are entitled to use that machine without BS. You are not some child playing on the machine, you are exercising! If this man wants to run, let him RUN OUTSIDE and fetch his manners from the trunk of his car.

Me? I am not so polite. I would turn and say "either Shut up or expect me to camp here tonight. Now, go find a new place to whine till I am done. The longer you stare at me, the more I feel like camping.

I walked 1/2 mile, and it started to snow. im inside, im done.

Erin, glad to hear your dad is taking care of himself...it's important for our parents to keep active, and esp work out with weights, either free weights or on machines...
When I work on weight machines, I do 2 sets with a max. time in between of 30 seconds. I'm not on them long...honest!
I cleaned the main floor of the house today...it' took about 1 1/2 hours, along with going up and down the stairs to the basement to do laundry...I didn't get done, either. I pooped out before I mopped the kitchen floor. I'll leave that for my dear DH, who's always eager to help out. I'm a lucky girl! The house smells so much better...not like an old person's home anymore.

Well I figured out why I might have been feeling like I was working so hard in the classes earlier this month. Got my bloodwork results today from my annual physical on the 8th. Apparently my lymphocytes were 70% versus a normal of 16-45%. Sounds like I have been fighting off something for a while. Got retested today, so hopefully I am back to normal. I have sure felt better the last few days compared to a week or so ago, but who knows.

if I go to the gym later tonight with my dad when he gets home, I'll be a little itchier towards anyone who complains about me just walking versus running. If they do whine, I might just camp out on the machine for the entire hour that my dad works out, instead of just doing my normal 30 - 40 minutes. I'll be stopping and taking lots of breaks, but I'll make sure to camp out a good long time on the treadmill.

I might not go to the gym tho, I just spent 20 minutes with my dad's ice chopper tool and my driveway. (tool is just a big chisel that's heavy. All I have to do is hold it a few inches above the ice and let it drop, dont have to do much in the way of heavy whacking at the ice)

I was quite grossed out to find that someone's bathroom trash had apparently either been blown into the snowdrift at the end of our yard, or the neighborhood trash dumper (guy from a neighborhood down the street who puts his trash in our trash or our neighbor's) visited us. Reason I know it's bathroom trash and not from our house....I dont use plastic thingies for a certain biological function that only girls have. They're all over the end of our driveway. I quit chopping the ice when I discovered those....YUCK!!!! EWWWW!!!! NASTY NASTY NASTY!!!! My back was hurting from standing there chopping ice anyways. (I hope they blow away soon, or get washed away in a rainstorm, because I dont want to keep finding those in our yard...ewwwww! I'm not touching them to throw them away!)

Next trash day (next thursday) I think I'm going to have to get up early and watch for the guy who keeps bringing their trash to our house to get rid of it, and kvetch to him for stealing our trash services (we pay for it) He can drive it somewhere else and stop using our bin and yard for his nasties.

You are a trooper doing that mornng exercise Debbie.

Erin, good for you for getting back to the gym after that incident.

TxBatman, maybe you should lay off the exercise for a few days so your body can recover from whatever it is thats going on with it.

Dejibo: I love your response to the stalkers at Erin's gym.

I swam a mile today.

I treadmilled for about a half hour tonight. (not very crowded there today) Walked till my legs started to tingle and my feet were staying "stop now if you want to be able to make it to the car". Then I went and sat and read my Kindle while I waited for my dad to get done with his.

I'd probably walk more if my back and neck werent still giving me problems. I keep hoping that if I keep doing the walking that eventually my back wont give me as many problems.

So you took a little walk to the mailbox. You live near the Arctic Circle as far as I am concerned.

It was 75 out today and the pool was nice and warm: I swam a mile.
