Default Jacksonville, FL Mayo Clinic

does anyone have experience with the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL?

i'm moving to St. Augustine, FL and i havn't been able to get a local neuro.
however, i've been accepted as a patient at Mayo.

i'm just interested to know how your care has been.

thanks.

I heard that Mayo Clinic is not taking Medicare anymore. So please check with your ins. It may be just hearsay, but it won't hurt to check.
Good luck in your Neuro search.

I go to John Hopkins in Maryland and they have a good reputation like Mayo. Out of 5 doctors, only found 1 I didn't think was great. But he was really OK. Love Urologist I found.

As far as I know, the Mayo Clinic in Glendale, AZ is the only one which has stopped taking Medicare. Like you said, she needs to research Mayo where she is and find out if they take her insurance.

Hey Judy dear! No experience w/the FL clinic, but have been to Rochester, MN several yrs ago and they went over me w/a fine tooth comb. My only complaint is that the Neuro didn't seem very personable, but they have many diff docs and I suppose they see so many pts that one more doesn't make a diff to them.

Good Luck on your search, but I think if the ins end of it works out, it would be a good place to start.

i think we would all agree personable neuros are hard to find. Out of 5 I found 3 but all moved away. Maybe it's me.

I went there in 2004 for a major workup and I got excellent care. Mayo has saved my life and lives of my friends. Its a very thorough, excellent and cordial place to get medical care. If I lived in JAX, I would definitely use them for all of my care.
