I've been trundling on quite 'well' for a while now but a couple of days ago, my right eye started hurting a bit. Then last night, I just had to take my lenses out (they stay in for a month at a time usually).
Vision is good (apart from wearing glasses that arent' strong enough ![]() Hurts to scrunch them shut and look side to side. all feels a bit bruised... Any ideas what could be going on ? |

go see your ophthalmologist as soon as you can.
When I had optic neuritis, it hurt so bad to move my left eye side-to-side that it actually caused me pain in my neck and shoulder. (not sure how the optic nerve would do that, unless it's referred pain) but the whole description you give reminds me of what things felt when I had ON for the first time. Even if it's not ON, it never hurts to be sure. One thing I learned from having optic neuritis is that you never ever mess with your eyes. Go get it checked.

That's how my Optic Neuritis started. The pain has gone away but the visual sx still persist. I thought I had a sinus infection at first. It was that kind of dull, achey feeling right behind my eyes. Have it checked out.

I get that pain often. It has all the earmarks of being ON, but mine has never officially gone that way.
I have not found anything to relieve that bruised, sore feeling, except to not move my eyes much, and rest. ![]() Hope it's not ON--I've never had it (yet) but it sounds unpleasant. Hope you get relief soon.

well i got thoroughly checked out and seems there's no problem to be seen. He was good and pleasant enough and apologised for not being able to find anything which I said was good.
So immediate panic over. thanks for the support and advice. Now eyes are sore from crying through 'UP' the movie. ![]() |
