![]() When I left today he said "we'll talk" tomorrow. His look said it all. I know he can't fire me, but he knows he can't trust me anymore. Trust me to get things properly done. I don't know what I can do before tomorrow, but I'm afraid to go in ![]()

To stop myself from totally freaking I figured I'd arm myself with knowledge about my rights. I'm going to get canned tomorrow. According to the ADA
What obligations does my employer have to accommodate me? If you qualify under the ADA, your employer must provide you with the This would apply to me. Now what are my rights or options?

I hate that, I know you have to do a good job, that is what they hired you for, but I hate when they think EVERYTHING is about the job. Some pansy-*** bozo that thinks he the one who's oh so "woe is me" BS making others feel like crap. He must know of your MS right?... Why doesn't he just shut the hell up and take it easy on you.
Sorry...I'm just in a weird mood ATM You're only human and this makes me furious.... I want to slap your boss. Post back if he gives you any crap tomorrow... I'll stick his calendar up his...... and make him remember. I feel bad for you. |

My MS MD said the #1 complaint of MS patients is the INability to multi task at times. Sometimes its related to a mini flare, and sometimes it is just an MS thing. It is one of the true horrors of this disease is that it robs us of our ability to keep up to our old selves.
If your boss knows you have MS, you are right, he cant fire you for a sx of the disease, but he can place you into a job that has less responsibility and less chance of messing up his day. I really hate this disease! I used to run an entire medical center for several prisons. From keeping the meds running on time, to organizing and motivating staff, and providing safe secure enviornments for staff as well as inmates when they required care in private. Now? I have days that I cant answer my email, and listen to my DH talk! ![]() Please make sure to tell your MD about the increase in sx of your disease.

Wish I had some advice. I was let go because I had, probably, no rights under the ADA. I was a para in the school system. Over-qualified for the job. But, no more rights than an untenured teacher. Could be let go for no reason. "Dr. HR"'s reason, although he didn't tell me, was simply that I requested FMLA time, for the 4th yr in a row.
Was obvious to me at the time, and the Special Ed dept. confirmed it when I filed for SSDI and they wrote health reasons as the reason I was no longer employed there. ~ Faith

I worry that all of this stress is making your ability to do your job even more difficult...
![]() ![]() I had to discontinue a medical transcription course because of my problems with memory and ability to organize...my neuropsych eval showed a dramatic decrease in the ability to process, which involves these types of abilities. I hope you get through your day, dear...thoughts and prayers are with you... ![]()

Reasonable for the purpose of accommodation is in the mind of the Company. To overcome this you may need a Lawyer. Many Companies will make some sort of accommodation in most cases. You may end up working in the file room.
