I had one on Thursday. I just do it, but it reminds me I have a real medical problem and reminds me of movies where you see the criticly injured being shoved into the MRI machine.
Unfortunately the scans were no better from months ago and even closer to the dx.

If I said this thread didn't bother me I would be lying. I feel for you, Dej, so hard to read and I want it to go away for you.

If you be my rock, I will be yours

I hope it goes quickly for you, Dej. If you have anything to soothe your nerves I'd go ahead and take it before the test starts.

MRI's have never bothered me. Other than being uncomfortable and cold.....I just close my eyes and try to pretend I'm at a "Stomp" concert!

I have a nice set of eye mask goggles that I wear. its a total black out! if you dont have a mask, ask them to cover your eyes, and they will put either a towel, or a wash cloth over your eyes. I DONT want to see how close that thing is to my head.

I will get my IV before hand, I am an incredibly hard stick. In a cold room, while I am strapped to a table, is not the time I want them to poke me 10 times. I get it planted before hand.

I will take alot of Ativan. The DH will drive, so I dont have to worry about being zonked. I am not afraid to ask them to slip more junk in my IV.

Thanks for all the support. I am just tired of this.

When I was part of a study I had to go to a specific place to get my MRIs. They put the IV beforehand and used a remote control to inject the dye. I thought that was so cool.

Remember if you jerk around in you sleep like I do, don't take too much meds. Or you may have to go back and have done again. I lucked out that one time and I will never take more than 1 Ativan again.

Anyhow, good luck! I'll be praying for you.

I got my call. They could do it without meds oral/IV for the 26th or March 4th With meds. The MS co ordinator isnt happy that I was moved so far out, but there are no machines available. I am on standby for the scanner that is IN the building. I guess they are only doing non medicated scans on the traveling or mobil MRI machine. I dont think there is a chance in hades that I could do it without meds. So, March 4th at 9:50 arrival time. At least my MD appointment isnt till a week later, so I can get buzzed! They will do a phone consult the next day, since no office appointments were to be had.

Why so busy? I used to get slid right in. Its like all of a sudden the MS center has become so busy, that they are back logged with appointments. I asked if I could see the local guys, but since all of my records are there, and they compare on line MRI to MRI slice by slice, they prefer it done in the big girl hospital.

So, there ya have it. Chicken Dejibo chose the later scan with meds, vs the sooner scan without.

If you are Chicken Dejibo than I am certainly Chicken Tkrik as I would have done the same exact thing you did. Don't beat yourself up over it. There are so many people who would have done what you did.
