It's nice reading that I'm not alone!!! Thanks for the comments everyone. Perhaps the medical stuff isn't quite the same as what's available on the street??? Never having used pot or any illegal drugs, I'd be afraid to try something unknown. Back in the dark ages when I was in high school/college, the "daring" thing to do was smoke a regular cigarette and have a beer! Knowing how I used to be, I probably would have tried mj if it was around! A couple friends have offered to "get me something", but I'm not comfortable with that route.

Isn't one medical version, sativex, a spray? Inhaling like a regular cigarette must not be good for the lungs. I think another one is a pill?

The past couple days here in PA have been beautiful with no snow/rain and it makes such a difference! The pain level is lower and my mood is so much brighter when the sun is shining! If there was something to make me, and others, feel this way most of the time........I'm all for it!!

Savatex is a spray, you spray it under your tongue and its absorbed by the thick blood vessels under the tongue

Marinol is a pill. I hear pro's and con's about the pill. Most folks say its about 25% strength of what a normal tiny joint would be. It takes at least 3 to get anywhere close to the benefit felt by a small joint.

I used to indulged in my teenage years, but have spent my career as a prison nurse, and encouraging others to lay it down. I was gifted some brownies, and was too chicken to eat them.

Marinol made Jim sick to his stomach. Mj, smoked, does the trick. I just wrote a long letter to our state rep. He's coming on board finally. Their fear is about mj being a gateway drug and how to regulate it. I referred them to Colorado and New Mexico and what they are doing to avoid a situation like California. I also educated him on "gateway" drugs and how mj, while it can lead to other drugs, is not what is on the mind of those in pain. I asked how is a herb like mj harsher than the methadone Jim takes?

I'll update when he writes back.

I'm for anything that would help improve my mood right now.
