Yuck...I hate that itchy feeling after you work outside in the grass...especially when it doesn't go away even after a shower! I have a back yard sorely in need of my attention right now. With all the weekend rides, it has been hard to find time for the usual spring chores like yard work. I mowed the front yard after work one night last week while I was sick and about didn't survive the evening. I was looking for a lawn chair to put in the shower so I didn't have to stand up...

Monday I worked in the garden for about 40 minutes, did 20 minutes of Pilates and 20 pushups. Today I work 11-8:30 so I might go out and do a bit of yardwork before my shower.

Got lazy over the weekend...actually got up at 5am, drove nearly an hour west of Houston planning to ride about 55 miles in the hills. It started raining on us a few miles before we got to where we were planning to park, and we knew more rain was on the way, so we turned around and went home. Glad we did too, because it stormed big time and then got really cold and windy afterwards.

On Sunday, we planned to go out and ride about 60 miles in the hills, but when we woke up, it was 33F with a west wind blowing at 18mph and gusting to 26mph. The route we were planning to ride was almost entirely North and South, so we wimped out on 60 miles in a wicked crosswind with wind chill temps below freezing.

By Sunday afternoon, I got to feeling guilty about not riding, so we went out to a local park with a long trail and did 23 miles, with the first half dead into a 20-30 mph wind. I still need to start getting alot more mileage in before mid April, so in addition to spin classes, I am going to start bringing my bike to work two nights a week and ride after work for 20 miles or so.
