Thanks Cindy. Jim takes quite a bit more Bac than you. I am going to run this past his docs on Thursday. You are on more Tiz than Bac (not strength, just pills) and that may be what Jim needs to think about. He's been on Bac for 22+ years. It may not be working anymore and may be hindering the Tiz from doing it's job. So far I took one Bac away and replaced it with a half a Tiz and that seems to be working. Not 100% but it's definitely an improvement.

We agree crapshoot for sure! I read what you said about the cold to Jim and he just agreed to it all, with enthusiasm I might add! haha

Immediately after that I have uncontrollable chills, but no fever. I did the same thing with Copaxone.

Jim premedicates with every shot and continues medicating the first 24 hours.

Jim had a full shot about two hours ago. So far so good. I still lowered the Bac and up'd the Tiz.

Experienced muscle pain, twitches, aches, nausea, exhaustion, fatigue, cog fog, blahdy blah for my year on Beta.
Thought it was MS the whole time.
Stopped the Beta, lo and behold, I'm cured !!!!

Me and Beta aren't friends

Pud, that sounds like Jim and Avonex. He stayed on it for three years and it would take him down three days a week. So basically he lived for the other four.

I reckon I would have maybe 4 hours of 'normal' every 48 hours, just before having to do it all again. looking back, I'm shocked I stuck it so long!!

Day two and no contortions. I think we may have narrowed this down to the Baclofen not working. Thanks for all your comments. I'll update after he sees the doctor Thursday.

We're home! Jim's doctor agreed to lowering Jim's Baclofen and up'd his Tiz per my request. I told him I didn't think it was working and he disagreed. But after I said a few choice words and asked him to throw the medical book out he smiled and gave in. hahaha I swear sometimes they get so hooked on meds and think they are a one size fits all deal. I also reminded him that Jim has taken this medicine for 21 years.

He said not to mess with the left over Baclofen. LOL He's afraid Jim would have bad withdrawal. I reminded him again that I know all about drug withdrawal since Jim had 30 seizures in one sitting from Gabapentin withdrawal. He smiled and knew by this time he couldn't win the fight.

All kidding aside, he knows I have nothing but the best for Jim and knows I wouldn't ask if I didn't believe it myself. He also knows I would never do anything that would harm Jim. He just likes to hassle me from time to time. I think it's because I picked him up once and it bothered his manhood. He is a tiny little thing.

So that's the verdict for now. He said the contorting is when the mind short circuits and doesn't know where to send the signal. He was pleased that increasing the Tiz helped Jim. But did ask me to keep in touch if it starts to occur frequently as this is something that could do more damage if left untreated. He did not believe the Beta had anything to do with it. Jim has had two full dose shots in the past week with no contortions since increasing the meds.

Thanks for all your suggestions and experiences.

PS: Oh, and guess who lost 20 lbs since last year? JIM! I didn't even notice but that's because I live with him 24/7. What a turd. I try and lose only 7. He sits in his chair and eats what he wants and loses? Ugh, so not fair! Jim's doctor tried to make me feel better by saying mine was mostly muscle. Yea, whatever. haha

Glad to hear you got some results at the doc visit. Why oh why are they so stubborn and slow to change? Are they in the pharma's pocket and feel they need to keep prescribing the meds? Hmmm...

Sandy, Jim is so blessed to have you as an advocate
