I asked the same thing! The MD wanted to know if I had recently had oral sex, and I blushed brightly and said "no" then he said that the male can carry many bacteria on his skin, and since I have been so dehydrated from the tummy issues, I am not flushing my bladder as nicely as I used to. That my "welcome home" pressie to my DH may have just pushed me over the edge.

Now DH feels badly, and I feel badly, and I have not recovered my own reserves yet, so...its a long week ahead.

Aw Dej, I'm sorry. And they didn't have ampicillin at the pharmacy? That's ridiculous. They should at least stock all of the antibiotics. I hope you'll feel better soon.

Aw, Dej. Step hangs out in many areas of our body, not just the throat. Before you and DH beat yourselves up about this, remember you were just in the hospital, with tummy issues no less. The strep you have could be a Strep D which normally hangs out in our gut and is known to cause UTIs as well. It is not too uncommon to get this during or after and hospital visit. Strep B could be an issue too as it hangs out in the "lower" region. While generally you hear about this in pregnant women/newborns of a mom with Strep B, you could be a carrier for it as well. Thow in a weakened immune system and these buggers will colonize and grow more rapidly.

To sum it all up, not all Strep comes from the throat. I guess you can ask your dr which type of strep you have. That might make you and hubby feel better.

I did stop and get some coconut oil, some lactobaccilus, and acidopholus, and some other nice treatments for my tummy to prevent issues.

and legz...cant we just sit in the shade and sip diaquris next time?
