Default emotional wreck lately, is it MS or meds or both?

I noticed I am not the only one who has been up and down lately. I am on this emotional rollercoaster that starts at happy and then goes quick and steep into depression and frustration then back up with anger, then sad again, then happy... this is all in the course of a day. It's insane. I feel insane. And when it is happening I can reckognize that it is happening and all I can do is cry about it.

I have noticed the "mental meltdowns" as we call it, do increase if I increase the dosage on my pain meds. Yet another reason that I only take a half of one at a time instead of full strength. But, it's summertime. And I have the kids, so broken back or not I have a house to run and things to do that require me moving around... which of course makes the pain worse and you can see how this rollercoaster gets started.

Doc tries to blame MS and tries to blame it as me being bipolar. Given the manic highs and lows, I would tend to agree... except for the fact that I only have them when I am on meds. I was having these issues right after I had my daughter and they said I was bipolar and put me on meds and I had these issues the whole time I was on the meds. stopped taking them and the issues went away, aside from the occassional panic attack which I was able to control.

Anyone else have these issues with anti-depressants and pain meds?

I'm so sorry for your anguish, Legz. I tell ya, if the meds don't cure ya they'll kill ya.

I don't have to take narchotic type meds for pain, anymore, but I know how they can mess up your life.

Feel better, my little elevator..

Sounds to me like it could be a bit of both, Legzz. Summer doesn't help either if you're in any way heat sensitive. I know, I for one, can't wait for Fall.
Hang in there. Hope you start feeling better soon.

it sounds like you may need a 2nd opinion to help sort out the problems and the meds. med reactions can really be a problem. it sounds like your dr needs to make some med changes.

i've had times when i've had to try new meds and increase the does, then decrease and come off because it wasn't working.

your dr should LISTEN to you because you know yourself best, even if you're crying or out of control.

hang in there. don't give up. you're your own best advocate. you have a lot on your plate right now to deal with. be gentle with yourself.

i hope you will feel better soon.

I am ok. Been a busy week. Monday we had to drive DH2B's DD back to the other side of Ky. (12 hour trip, and of course we had to stop because the stupid truck broke down), Then the next day we went out on the boat with the fam, and then packed up and headed out. There was a huge emotional explosion in the truck; I didn't want to leave his DD there, I got quite attached to her this summer. We drove halfway and stopped for the night in WV. (I am not a fan of WV. Truck acts up every time we make a trip through there!). Then Wed we got up and headed home, just in time to have a nap and a date to celebrate our 3 year anniversary. DH2B is working all week/weekend, and DD is at her dad's until next wed.

I am dealing with the silence today. it's good and bad. I needed a break, but it is SOOOOOOO quiet! I miss my girls.

I have found that my stress level has dropped dramatically since stopping the copaxone. I am under tons of stress, but find I am not as quickly overwhelmed by it. Strange. I had not thought to take much stock till you asked the question.

As you know my kitty is quite sick and everyday has been a new adventure, but now that I am bareback I feel like I have my old stamina back to just get it done.

I hope you feel better, and get to hug those girls soon.
