Well, you don't look sick. . .

Wish I could figure out a way to not work, have a home and take care of my kid (says the ex when complaining about me not working, like it effects him).

'What doesn't kill us makes us strong'....(tell that to my recalicitrant leg muscles)

or

'How long are you going to use that as an excuse?' followed by...'you know I am only joking'... (I obviously have a different sense of humour)

Grrrrrrrr......I really hate that first one!!!!! MS DOES have me and is slowly squeezing the life out of me, just like a python!!!

How about.....my friend has had MS for years and hasn't progressed so much.

OR

This "wonder drug" (snake oil) will have you out of that chair in no time!

Don't ya just feel like screaming, "Put a sock in it?"

what about these?

At least you don't have to work.

Wish I could sit in a chair (w/c) all day

Wish I could park in handicapped parking

Wish I could lay arund in bed/chair/couch all day and relax

Like this is all some sort of friggin vacation...Makes me want to slap some people - and often?!?!

EEEWWW,
The spa-land of MS. Sit in a chair all day (ARE THOSE PRESSURE SORES FORMING DOWN THERE?), great parking (like I have the energy to go shopping and besides I can't drive anymore) yet the laundry needs doing and the kids need stuff. Sigh.

I like the "Inspirational" videos people send me. The guy born with no arms and legs who is so positive (is the camera around when he cries?), talks to kids in school (Uh, he can make money in that way, Do you have any other suggestions?), the one-legged ballerina and her one-armed partner (Like I could dance before MS), MSers who climb mountains (Is there a W/C access trail up to top for me?).
OK, I'm done being bitter. There's laundry to do.

Omg this goes so far beyond "but you look good" which could be ignored as just one of those stupid things people say when they are uncomfortable and don't know what to say. Yeah I'd have a four letter word for anyone with the nerve to say any of the above to me.

What about "are you one of Jerry's kids?"

P.S I loved "but you look so intelligent" LOL
