I've been getting this burning numbing feeling in my thigh for the last 3 months.
I don't shoot myself with a needle in that thigh If I do the pain gets so much worse. I had one Neuro tell me it was MS 'nothing we can do' unless I want steroids which I have refused. Another Neurologiest told me it wasn't the MS but side affects of Crestor which I take for high cholesterol. I can't find anything on the web about this pain and Crestor. I've asked family members that take Crestor if they have suffered with the same side efffects. No one has. Has anyone here come across this?

I've read about muscle weakness caused by cholesterol lowering drugs, in peeps with MS, but not burning pain. It probably is a sx of MS.

i agree with sally.
i know that there can be a side effect of taking crestor or drugs like it. the SE is muscle wasting which can be dx'd from a blood test. it's a serious SE which usually involves more than 1 muscle area. in that case you should see your dr and stop the med, or change to something else. it doesn't sound like that to me. i take both and havn't experienced that. it's possible that you're having some sensory sx's. you might also check with your pharmacist and get his advice. and/or you might run this by your pcp.

I was on that for a short time. The pain in my thighs was so bad I could hardly walk, so my pcp took me off of it. It can damage the heart muscle too. I take Lescol and Zetia, as well as COQ10 to protect my muscles.

I went to see my new GP who's a total ...hmm I need to sensor here.. He gave me new medication instead of Crestor. - Rosuvastatin.
I had to slowly explain why I wanted to switch, and I told him about my leg pain and numbness. Never bothered to move from his chair to check me filled out my form and off I went. I saw my Neurologist, who I really like 2 weeks later with NO change in pain. After chatting a bit I asked him sooo do you think the pain is MS like my Canadian neuro said or the Crestor that I replaced and I still feel the same (yes I'm a smart *****) Well he did agree it was my MS ( I was right I was right ![]() He added Gabapentin 300mg. I started it 3 days ago, cause I forgot I had it ![]() I have to work up to 900mg and I'm not so sure. If anyone else has tried this for a burning numbing feeling. I'd really like to know. thanks

i was on that drug and later switched to lyrica.
you should give a new med at least 2 wks to start to take effect in the body. the level of medication will become constant in your body. so give it a chance to work. i hope it helps.
