I received my Hero scooter from Walgreens. Yesterday DD and Grands put it together for me and, so far, I love it. It is running smoothly, it's quiet and has a much better turning radius. The seat swivels and is a bit broader and softer...nice..

I haven't tried it on the ramp yet but I will next Sunday, when DD is here to rescue me, if the scooter goes crazy and throws me.

Thank you all for helping me through this. Thanks especially to Dej for showing me the link for this scooter.

I'm having fun again.

awww Sally! I am so happy you found it. I was shocked when I saw a scooter for half the price of most, and its easy to take apart, and easy to use, and comfy! I am just so happy I was able to share with you. Enjoy it!

Love my little mini scooter, it's a Bruno Rio III and I've had it all over the country and even a few others. I've been in the same mode of thinking as you lately, Sal. My neuro once told me that when I run over my own foot it's time to trade to a PC. I ran over it on Sunday, it hurts. But honestly, no way am I going for the chair until/unless I'm forced to get one!

Be sure to donate the old one and take the tax credit, they have fixer-upper people available to most charities and someone will surely benefit from it.

Thanks Dej, the bill's in the mail.

Cindy, I have a Bruno Cub32 for my Van. When I drove, I used it all the time, but now, not very often. I loved it and still do.

Believe me, my old scooter is unfixable, but I will donate it anyway, if my Grands don't steal it. I think they're the reason it doesn't run so good, now..

My report on my new Hero, by Shoprider, Scooter from Walgreens. $499+Tax..free shipping,

I love it for me, but if I were any more disabled, I wouldn't be able to use it. It's very light and tips too easily. It hasn't tipped on me yet but tried to.

I love the swivel seat, as it makes it so much easier to transfer to potty, chair or wherever and the seat is wider and softer. I am still able to lift my legs and even put my legs out on the floor, to steady myself, if necessary.

I haven't tried it on my ramp yet, as my ramp has an 80 degree turn and it's kinda steep at the end, so I don't want to try it alone. I'll try it Sunday with DD here.

It has a super better turning radius, but because of that, it can be a little unsteady when turning. On my wood laminate floors, it wants to slide to the side, if I make too sharp of a turn.

The tires are small and don't have a lot of grip on my slick floors. The motor is powerful, which I love, but I keep it on slow inside the house, which is still a little too fast for sharp turns.

If you are not, at all, sure on you feet, then I wouldn't recommend it for you, but if you are, it's a terrific little scooter.

Thanks so much for that report on your little Hero scooter SallyC. I have been wondering how the scooter was working for you.

That does not sound good that it can tip easily. I was curious if the tires on it are pneumatic with inner tubes or are they solid - maybe even kind of plasticee. If that's a word

I would be very careful trying it on your ramp. Be certain someone is around. Also, did it come with a booklet that tells you how much of an incline you can safely do?

I have a Pride Legend and it is wonderful on all counts except on grass or the like. Our lawn is not smooth and so the ride is not soft shall we say. It came with solid tires which they do now as people tend not to like to or do air. I just ordered some pneumatic tires with innertubes as I have no problem keeping them up as to what is called for. I hope they work out better for me where I am. If you only went on sidewalks, concrete, pavements, tar and in stores, there would be no problem. BUT, here on the not smooth lawn it is not great.

I paid out of pocket and it was expensive - top of the line. What I have Medicare does not pay for (I knew this before I bought it) because you have to need to use one in the house. I do not. And if I did for this one, I would need a mansion of a house with lots of room That'll never happen.

Again, thanks for the review on your scooter.

I did the ramp today and it works like a charm. No problem at all. Of course I was very very careful going down the ramp. Coming back up was swift. All is well.

Good to hear. Do you have pneumatic tires with innertubes, solid tires, or plasticee tires? Thank you.

Solid tires on the hero and the pneumatic tires that need air on my outdoor Bruno scooter. It's a PITA but I do like the pneumatics on the outdoor scooter.

Thank you for your reply. Solid tires are good on like concrete, pavement, sidewalks, indoors, etc. But outside they are a pain. It just beats me up I really hope the pneumatic tires will work much better on my scooter when I get them. They should help some for sure. The tires should be here this week.
