Kitt,it couldn't be worse than the one I have. It had a lot of good reviews and only a few negatives. I hope it's ok too, otherwise, back it goes.

That sounds like a good idea that if it doesn't work for you then it goes back. Seriously, I do hope it works out great for you

Way to go Sally! its a nice little scooter, and easy to dimantle. Each part is lightweight and easy to take apart to pop in your trunk.

Im glad you found one!

Get yourself something really nice if you can. What is more important than your mobility? Other than your men and chocolate?

Hi Sally!

Sorry I wasn't around before to add my two cents to your questions. Please let us know how the little scooter works out. At least it looks like the seat swivels -- the one I bought before I became so immobile, doesn't and now I can't use it since I can't get my legs up high enough to get on. Now the charger no longer works, but hope to get a new one so I can try to sell the scooter.

Anyway, my powerchair is an "Alanti" by Golden. I've had it for five years now and really use it all the time. Just had to get four new wheels and two armrests -- $500+. My insurance doesn't cover anything like this, but I can claim it on my income tax. The chair to start with was over $3,000. The footrest flips up for standing. Had to have my bathroom door widened for it to fit through. The seat is vinyl so it cleans easily. The "stuffing" is wearing thin from so much use so have been checking out various cushions as my "bottom" does tend to get sore from sitting all the time. I don't care for the gel cushions -- it made me feel "carsick" from the motion and I have a big problem with balance. Oh yes, this chair was a salesman's sample so got it a little cheaper from a place right here in town that sells medical equipment. For me, I prefer to buy local so if something goes wrong, help is close by!

If I ever get a new chair, I'd like one where the seat can be elevated. Working in the kitchen, etc., would be so much easier plus talking with people who are standing up would mean eye-to-eye, not eye-to-butt or stomach!!

I have a ramp going out through my garage so I can take my dog out. The chair is great on pavement and pretty good on fairly level grass. But powerchairs don't seem as stable as 4-wheeled scooters outside. It doesn't come apart for transport either. I have a fold-up manual push chair for that. Being I'm in it all day, my little dog can usually be found sitting on my lap. No wonder she's gained too much weight -- lazy!

Good luck with your scooter, hope it fits the bill! Just thought my experience with a "chair" might be of some use. Take care.....

ThanK you so much Judy. I'm not there yet, but I'm not getting any younger, so your info is most valuable and appreciated. My left leg doesn't want to lift but, my right leg is near normal, still.

I guess I rushed the PC thing just a bit, I got worried that if I get a PC now, I'd just grow lazier and get used to it..KWIM?
