Default started my juice fast. say a prayer!

well, my poor tummy isnt happy. its been really struggling. MS has nicked my Phrenic nerve and my vagus nerve and that means it is not behaving like a normal tummy should. I take forever to push any food thru, so my GI reccomended a juice fast for at least 5 days.

I got a Jack LaLayne Juicer. very quiet, and yet poweerful enough to handle the Kale and skin of apples. The shoot isnt wide enough for the whole apple so I core it and cut it in half. Something about cyanide and apple seeds...i dunno I forgot.

I need some good juicer recipes if you have any. let me know.

For breakfast I am doing 3 oranges, 3 carrots and a lemon. This morning I threw in a beet. YUM!

Lunch is 3 apples, 3 carrots, some blueberries, strawberries, and some blackberries. YUM!

After noon snack will be some kale, beets, celery and apple for sweetness.

Dinner will be whatever I can figure out. its amazing to me that when my tummy breaks down, a glass of 6oz of water can sit for hours and hours in my tummy, and my intestine doesnt pull the nutrients from it, so the GI thinks that the juice will make it very easy on my tum. As many know when I left I was suffering with ON, and my interventions have kept that to a low roar, but I really need to fix my tummy.

Anyone got great juice advice, or recipes? throw um at me!

Good luck Dej! I don't have any recipes to share, sorry . I did the Master Cleanse fast once. I was on it for fifteen days! It was maple syrup, cayenne pepper, lemon juice and water. Disgusting! I was hoping it would help my IBS. It was only 600 calories a day. Not fun at all. This was before my MS dx. I would never do something like that now.

I'm sure you'll do great on this . I hope it helps and I'll say a prayer for you.

Add cucumbers, spinach, broccoli stalks (they are sweet), a slice of ginger in any combination with carrots and maybe an apple for a little sweetness. I find it's better to not juice a whole lot of fruits, as you end up overloaded on sugar. I also use some freeze dried wheat grass juice--just stir it in the green juice.

Good luck with the fast. I'd like to do one soon.

ok. middle of day 2 and I am still standing. I have a banging headache, and broke down and took some advil.

A wonderful friend of mine who is a truck driver for an organic produce company just dropped off about 150 pounds of food! All organic. Kale, broccoli, green beans, celery, onions, tomoatoes, 40# of apples! and avacados, a crate of black berries, and so on. When I asked what I owed him he showed me bruises on the food, and one or two moldy berries in the blackberries. He explained that his company was going to throw ALL of this food out, so he rescued it for me. I owe nothing! OMG! this rocks! FREE FOOD! I am drowing in oranges, peaches, pears, bananas and so on.

I have looked up some great recipes and have managed to "clean out" the system. I am working on repatriating the colon and the lining of my intestine so that it will work better. I noticed this afternoon that my tummy growled! it hasnt growled in months!

If I can just make it thru tomorrow I am told that the hump day will show me a wonderful horizon of feeling better, stronger, faster. I hope so, cause this detox headache is not fun. I want my cup of tea! no caffiene, no diary, no wheat, all my foods are raw, whole and live. Juiced so my intestine doesnt have to work for the nutrients.

Harder than it looks. The juice is oh so yummy! but my body is in a bit of shock because I was a bad girl with my diet lately.

How do you like your Jack LaLane juicer? Which model did you get? Is it easy to clean?

Dej - Those recipes sound good. I only have a blender but make a lot of smoothies when my MS tummy decides it doesn't want to work right. I'll have to write those recipes down (altering it a bit because bananas give me hives and I love, love, love bananas.)

Please keep us posted on how you are doing and how well this works. I may have to think about doing it.

BTW- I see that a lot of your recipes entail carrots. There is something called the Gerson Therapy. They juice carrots and drink it like crazy. They do lots of other things as well. Many people have been cure from cancer using this method. The downside, you can't get the therapy in the US, you have to go to Mexico. They do have some clinic in California but the actual "procedures" can't be done it the US as it is considered illegal. Check out the movie about it on Netflix. It's is truly interesting.

I have a bunch of juicing recipes but I"m not sure how to get them to you. I saw your posting while I was looking for other juicers in my area, and then signed up for this site to reply to you, but I find it all very confusing. Please email me bonnysemail I'm on yahoo. I will try to figure out if you reply on this site also. Bonny
