Is this a problem for you? I suddenly have to go to the bathroom and a lot of times I don't make it, I always wear pads, I'm afraid not to. Is this MS or an age thing, I'm 64. Oh, that sounds so old.

I'm 54. I think it's age, MS and a twin birth. A terrible combination that makes me wear pads all the time.

The urinary incontinence is what made my PCP send me reluctantly to a Neurologist. I insisted it was neurological. It just felt that way.

A lot of it is age and having had children. The ligaments and muscles weaken and the bladder falls. Also, the uterus and/or the rectum can be affected.

I am 56 yo. i have the exact same thing. I shop at Costco for a bargain!

I want to blame MS. But who knows. I don't ask my friends about incontinence! We may be on intimate terms but not THAT intimate!!!

I don't have a problem with incontenence, YET, and I'm 70 yrs old (Youngster) with MS for over 40 yrs. I have had periods of it though, during an exacerbation or illness.

Since I started LDN, I haven't had the incontenence problem, but, I have a tendency to retain, causing UTIs, frequently. I must squeeze my bladder 'till empty, each time I go.

Retention also causes frequent trips to the potty. Have you ever finished, left the BR and had to go back, because you felt the urge? That's what happens when your bladder is retaining. Some have to cath but, I can get by, by squeezing my bladder dry.

Like others have mentioned, it's probably a little of both.

I am a retainer but like Sally, during an illness or exacerbation, I leak.

For me- I have both issues: urgency to go and inability to not go when needed to go. I actually have to 'process/think' for numerous minutes just to get the urine to flow. It is getting worse the worse my body progresses. Frustrating. Turning on the sink to help does not work anymore. It is so bothering.

Boy, I didn't know so many had a problem. Both my babies were C-sections, so my problem isn't because of having kids, this just started about 6 mos. ago and I really feel like it is MS. I try not to blame everything on MS but in this case, yes. I do have the problem of retention, it is so aggrevating.

I've always seemed to use the bathroom more frquently than other family members. lol I'm always the one who has to stop first, when travelling on long trips.

However, you don't mention whether your problem with frequency is new, or has been coming on for awhile.

When I have a sudden, new problem with more freq, it is likely a UTI.
