Feel better, Aarcyn. I'm so sorry to hear you fell and broke your toes. I hope you're not in too much pain.

OUCHERS!!!!! I'm so sorry you had an MS moment. Were you in-or outside? This lousy disease!!! I hope you're feeling better soon and those toes heal up quickly. Take care and be careful not to hurt them again!

Aarcyn,
Broken toes hurt. Feel better. I kick things (when I walked) and was always hurting them. Feel better. Are they sort of set or are you wearing protective stuff round them?

Ow! Ow! Ow! So sorry to hear about this - I don't think much hurts more than kicking or dropping something your toes REALLY hard.

Please take care of yourself and I am glad you have a way of getting around.

Regards

Lyn

4 toes are confirmed broken. The ER cast has been traded for the big HEAVY plastic boot. It can only be removed when I take a shower. This will be a six week situation. The plastic boot is huge. Wardrobe is affected, especially concerning nighttime bathroom excursion.

I am not a happy camper. DH left for Dallas on Monday. He comes home Thursday. Neighbor is putting mail and newspaper on door handle in the AM.

When I was a teenager, I went with my best friend on a visit to a shut-in to bring food and give the woman a little company.

I am that woman.

Six weeks is a long time at this moment.

Cyn, will you get to go to PT to get whirlpool therapy later on? That usually helps heal it, even before the boot is off for good.

No one to stay with you while your DH is away? Please be careful. I hope you have a porta potty in your bedroom with lid and arm rails, next to the bed. Many people do that when a trip to the bathroom is needed at night.

I know people with bowel/bladder urgency and one bathroom in the house, buy one of those chair with pot and lid for their bedroom, for emergencies. You never know.

I hope you have no pain. Six weeks stinks! Darn!

I hate this plastic cast, it is brutal on my "good" leg because of spasms during the night making my left leg bang around.

In a spasm, my foot flexes and toes spread. It WAS more annoying than painful but now, it has pain. Makes me wonder if the bones will show any healing since there is involuntary movement.

I see the orthopedic surgeon again on Thursday.

I am going to plead for a smaller cast. Not even sure if one exists. DH and I have made a fashion statement out of the cast to address the hard plastic. The cast sock folds over the top, an ace bandage wraps around the body to cover the various nodes and a sock bootie encases the toe area.

Funny how it feels so good to take the cast off and then it starts to not feel good, vulnerable.

I am still taking quite a few oxycodone. 3 a day, two if I can handle the pain factor. At least they work. I do not feel high nor am I sleepy. I guess abuse is when people take more than one or two?
